Some mood music I draw influence from when trying to write certain kinds of scenes in stories:

Head over heels in love :)
I'm really into some old time music. Carly Simon in my mind is a much underrated singer, and most people seem to think either of "You're so vain" or "Nobody Does it better" when they hear the name if they know any of her stuff, but I really like this.

I know it's stupid. I know it's as cliche and overdone as Christian music, really. But I can't help it. I have a weakness for guitar/drum riffs and the fricken' stupid, chanty hooks that so often get used, and you should too, reader! Napalm Records is like some kind of patron-saint of silliness in this.
Also, Gloryhammer had people animate spaceship-submarines for their music video...That has to get some credit on its own, really (also--Alestorm, the lead singer's other project, is also worth a check-out. Because D&D-metal also needs pirates).

Hammers seem to be an oddly common theme?

In tangential but related silly, role-playing metal...Can I recommend some Romanian Catholic Werewolf/Vampire metal?

Unleash the Archers has also been solid for years for me, and to go full-hipster for a moment, I had the chance to see them in concert in 2010 when they were just getting bigger--and as an intro act they put on a better show than the headliners. Plus, Canada deserves to have more a musical legacy than Justin Bieber, right? :p
They do a gorgeous rendition of Northwest Passage, and I'd encourage folks to check out their other stuff:

Coming off the metal theme, I can't mention how much I adore the old, 80s, new wave stuff when synthesizers were first getting big and there was a lingering stink of disco in the air. Kim Wilde, Madonna's early stuff, Belinda Carlisle...I love it, and as much as people crap on it, I think they secretly do too.

I mean, if you're ever looking for some relaxing ASMR you could always go for one of the classics:

No Blind Guardian?

And now for something completely different

Funny trivia, a part of this song was intro into sports news on Croatian national TV channel for years.

For some totally cheesy music, but in a nice way. I had forgotten about the existence of this pair except the male singer died recently, even then the names meant nothing to me, but when I heard this song, I remembered it. The dancers amusingly seem to have gone to the Commander Shepard school of dancing.

Some good old 1950s music to make our website even less acceptable to the People's Republic of China. Enjoy all three flavours!
