United States "The Most Deadliest Day" or "Am I Racist?" For Greatest Documentary in 2024?

So are you saying that what is a woman should have been given out for free, but this one is ok to be sold because this one is more entertainment than education?
Absolutely not. I have no problem with both of these films asking for money from those who watch it. If you want to make it so others don't have to pay for it, buy tickets for people.

No. They're both products that took time and money to create with the purpose of generating profit for a company, not charity.

And just because something is intended to be sold as a product does not mean it's a grift.

Grifts are when people peddle bullshit for money. It being bullshit is one of the key parts of it being a grift.

By your definition anything with a paywall or on a paid streaming service is a grift
If the purpose is generating profit then that means that it's not educational/ideological. So simping for it is not needed. See the thing is we live in a democracy so every voters opinion matters. If you want to change society then you need to reach the most people you can. By charging people a fee to hear a message your message will not spread NEARLY as far as normal.

The way I think about it, I already am against trannies so I don't need to watch this movie. Someone who is pro tranny is not going to want to watch it, but may be convinced by others but that would be less likely if they paid for it. The neutrals won't watch it because most people don't pay to watch random documentaries and learn random things.

See this feels like a case of conservatives fucking their own message over just to pander to profit and capitalism.

Look at other groups that spread their beliefs and want you to adopt them. Christians and Muslims give free Korans and Bibles. Because they WANT you to read the book they want you to accept the ideology.

Also grift does not mean peddle bullshit. Andrew Tate is a grifter but alot of what he says is true, a grifter is someone whose primary motivation is to make money not spread their idea. It's ok to make money but it should be a secondary priority to politics.

Also I think educational articles should be forced by the government to not have a paywall. Make it free for any citizen to be able to learn and better themselves.

As for streaming services that's entertainment. Most people don't care if you are aware of what happened on game of thrones or whatever unless you are part of the fandom. I thought Daily Wire wanted to send a message and so do most conservatives. I mean think about it do you want to stop children being turned into trannies and having their balls chopped up? Then you need to convince people to legislate against it. And that means you need to make most voters against it, if they support it or don't care about what you see as a social evil they won't pay you money to learn why it's wrong. Thinking like that is stupidity that let's conservatives lose because of grifting putting profit before victory in politics.

I mean I don't feel I should support daily wire just like that. It's a company not a charity. If their primary goal is to make money then they can sell whatever.

You do realize that the vast majority of content that DW produces, IS free on youtube, correct?

They have some content such as movies and extended podcast sections behind paywalls. They release shows daily on YouTube for free they're getting their message out there without charging money. They're also producing entertainment, and charging money for it.

But that aside, a lot of quality journalists release things on patreon, and charge money for it, because they need to work and make money to survive and continue to produce more journalism.

Just making money is not a grift.

You can actually look up the definition of grift. Yes, the bullshit is a key portion of what makes something a grift. Look it up.

Daily Wire should create some sort of highly accessible free content...

But of course they won't because the GRIFT is too strong!

You do understand what free samples are right?

What is a woman is Matt Walsh's magnum opus it's his best most famous work. It's also the most publicized argument that the modern right in America has against trannies.

You state this like it's self-evidently true, with no support or evidence that that is the case.
The point of ideology/education is to teach others not for you to make money.

You claim to be a Christian would you demand someone pay you a fee before you evangelize to them?

Friendly Reminder - No derailing the topic. Stay on topic about the documentaries in the thread title.
You are comparing apples to teenage mutant ninja turtles. Religious evangelization is a significantly different animal than documentaries and books, even those pushing or promoting an ideological agenda.
Why?

If you want to change society like make a democracy instead of a monarchy or get rid of slavery or anything that deals with legislation. You would give stuff out for free or even bribe people with other things to listen like lobbyists do.

Can you imagine slavery abolitionists saying “Yes slavery is bad and we should stop it but if you want to know why then you have to pay me first.”

Making money allows you to make more content spread your message further. I understand that you're too dumb to grasp this concept.

DW was paying these race grifters up to $50k just to talk with them. They have to get that money from somewhere.

Listen I understand you need money to live and meet basic necesities, as well as to make up for what you spent to make the movie or book. I'm not even adverse to using it to generate a profit because you can spend more time working on the issue if you have this as a job instead of just doing it part time.

But you still should not be seeking profit as your primary motive once you make a decent ammount you should try and just give the product for free to spread the message, if you remove your lips from Matt Walsh's ass you might see this.

OK, well, this is a different take than I have understood you to speak in your previous posts. You were coming across as stating profit is bad, and means you aren't sincere in some way.

Now...what's a 'decent amount' mean?

No you can have profit, again you can use that profit to help your workers and then reinvest it to continue the mission.

As for what a decent ammount is that depends on many factors from what the issue you are campaigning for or against how big your operation is and other factors I'm not smart enough to go for.

You can have some things that are primary for profit. For instance I'm not saying Lady ballers which is a comedy movie should be given out for free as while it does satire on current issues it's main goal is to get you to laugh, not think or change your mind.

But it seems like what is a woman is different from that you might laugh at the stupidity of these tranny activists but the goal of the movie is to argue against their ideology. I just looked it up the movie came out in 22 I thought it was older like 4 years or so. So no it shouldn't be free NOW. But eventually they should release it after they recoup something from it.

. . . You do know that the single most influential anti-slavery work in the United States was a for-profit NOVEL? To the point where when Abraham Lincoln met the author he is said to have said: "So. You're the little woman who wrote the book that made this big war?"

So... umm... yeah, Abolitionists DID IN FACT basically do that.

Yeah, so DW keeps their talent and keeps making shows available free on youtube even if they've been demonetized.

You know Bible's are also sold right? How is that any different? I'm not saying you can't sell the product, but also many of them are given for free.

Finally saw Am I Racist? and I thought it was hilarious. It was definitely as some people said, a sort of Borat style documentary. I was cringe laughing out loud right from the beginning and so were the people I was with. Since the theater was basically empty except for us, we were able to be as loud as needed.

The real nice part was that it wasn't so much preaching from Matt Walsh on the Conservative POV but it was mostly having these "experts" on anti-racism speaking and sometimes Matt Walsh would simple pointed questions but oftentimes it was nice just seeing the words being said by these academics and activists and letting it sit on its own ludicrous merits.

Seeing the money counter in visiting various Anti-Racists to learn about how to combat Racism was a funny gimmick as well. And the ending act with Matt hosting his own DEI Workshop... and charging for it, was beautiful.

Would recommend watching it. Very funny and insightful film.
