The Misty Mountains are the local Himalayas
A toss up between Gandalf (he is a high order Angel, after all) persuading the parties to reach an amicable agreement, or War of the Beard: Arda Expansion Pack ensues.
In the latter case - the patter of The Time of the Orc is just around the corner, as the Dwarves and Elves are greatly weakened and sixty years later succumb to Dol Guldur.

The human/Elf alliance wins. The dwarves only had 500+13 and a reluctant Hobbit while the wood elf's alone according to some sources had 1700 spearman and archers even without adding the Human army which probably was of similar size to the Dwarves at least.
Furthermore the dwarves have longer supply trains if they attempt to lay in for a siege while Thandruils realm is closer and men have access to food bought up via esgaroth from Dorwinion.

I think they skirmish for a bit and end up negotiating a peace treaty of some sort.
Indeed - Elves do not wanted war,only siege to made dwarwes think.
