The mandate won’t take effect for all children until the U.S. government has finished vetting the vaccine for ages 12 to 15 and 5 to 11.
12-15 might not be so bad because my eldest daughter will get upset with you if you don't call her by her given name. My youngest daughter is 10 and scares the crap out of her teachers just by being there.

so in short were fucking stupid idiots who put idelogy over results as a californian I am not surprised.

I suppose when were cold in the dark and hungry we can pat ourselves on the back about how progressive the state is.

When the environmental alarmists stop lying all the time, propaganda like the above post might be taken a bit more seriously.
We've actually survived an extinction-level catastrophe at least once. We're really inbred because of it. I can say, with absolute certainty, that you, I, and everyone else alive are double cousins so many times over that it's not funny.

It's a record of predictions by environmentalist alarmists, and just how many of them have proven false so far.

Which is basically all of them that we've passed the date for.

What exactly does this have to do with past meteor strikes or the like?
Exactly what you said. The extinction clock is complete bullshit. Humanity could be reduced to just a pair of semi-identical* twins and we'd probably still figure out how to survive.

* The girl has a mucked up Y-chromosome, her brother does not.

That's completely orthogonal to the Extinction Clock, though, it says nothing about genetics or humanity being reduced or made extinct. It's entirely a repository for claims environmentalists have made and how accurate their various doom prophecies are. Many just relate to claims about how the temperature would cool into a ice age, superheat things from global warming, etc. with no mention of deaths at all. F'rex one of them is entirely about a prediction that Maldives would lose its entire fresh water supply by 1992, nothing to do with inbreeding.

I didn't even mentally connect that comic directly with environmentalism TBH. I've just seen it around and it seemed apropos to "when we're cold in the dark and hungry we can pat ourselves on the back". Could have been any flavor of armageddon that rampant corporate greed abetted.

Regarding the ridiculous clock, I will give them credit for keeping their (universally failed) expired predictions on the list, which is more than most doomsayers can say. They appear to constitute about half the current list.
