Congratulations! As the Hand of the King (tm), You've been given the honorable privilege of appointing nominations to the Sovereigns Small Council. After scouring air, land, sea and space, we think that the Legislature has nominated ten excellent candidates who will be the firm wise and intellectual voice upon your Sovereign's Small Council. Keep in mind, you have to choose at least one of them and sadly due to the byzantine nature of politics (and author/OP fiat) it'll be difficult to get rid of these pernicious influences upon the Nation once they are elevated to the Small Council.

And this Sovereign is a really good friend or relative of yours and you are both really invested in this nation he has somehow ended up ruling so you don't want to betray or backstab him or anything.

Keep in mind, you'll need every bit of help you can get as our territory is under perennial threat both conventional and unconventional, external and internal. Known and Unknown. Choose wisely...

Pycelle (Game of Thrones): Pycelle is a learned man wise in the ways of science, history, medicine and providing wise council. And don't worry about the anachronistic knowledge, despite his seeming frailty, he's been able to flash learn a whole lot about our modern times and thus his knowledge base will be on par with the current technological state. Some may call him sycophantic, cowardly, duplicitous, degenerate, selfish, insincere and come off as senile, clumsy, and stammering more then a current US President but...

Sparatus (Mass Effect): A skilled military man and politician who despite his love for Palaven and his Turian people, has dedicated his life selflessly to serving on the Citadel Council to the benefit of all sentient peoples across the known galaxy. He questions everything, but you can't be afraid to ask questions right? While some may find his skepticism, obstinance, ignorance, and thinly veiled contrarianism in the face of growing insurmountable mountains of evidence to be vexing...

Robert
Kinsey (Stargate): Distinguished longterm Senator whose famous for cutting out useless waste in the government. His fiscal responsibility may someday propel him to even higher offices. He's a compassionate family man who while unable to serve in the military himself (illness robbed him of his chance to serve his country) he still managed to serve God and Country and do the Lords Work as a politician putting forth strong, rational and well thought out 'Earth First' policies. He possesses impressive political connections and pull which on a few occasions let his courageous leadership shine. He oversaw the successful test of a planet destroying weapon, patriotically fought alien corruption in America, pushed for civilian oversight and control of secret military Black Ops programs and much, much more! Short sighted critics might say he self righteously chooses the most contrarian, stupid alternative plan repeatedly but...

Vrook Lamar (Star Wars): Highly extinguished Jedi Master who served on the Council in the Mandalorian and Jedi Civil Wars, it was his sage wisdom that helped deal with the pernicious problem of the Jedi Exile by stripping her of her dangerous powers after she submitted to Judgement to the Council after defending the Republic from the invading Mandalorians. Then, after being saved by the exonerated returning Jedi Exile, his great plan was to strip her of her powers and kill her on the chance she might be a danger again. Sadly, he was stopped by EVIL DARK JEDI before the plan could be enacted. Pessimistic, cynical, and disdainful of those who actually do shit...

The Toaster (Fallout: New Vegas): The Toaster continued its psychotic spree, reducing all appliances in range to scrap electronics and spare parts. After one of its more psychotic episodes, however, the other Sink personalities decided enough was enough, and dumped the Toaster in a bathtub. Sparking and hissing, the Toaster swore its enemies would rue the day when they had bread - and no way to toast it.

Alfrid Lickspittle (Hobbit Films): This fucking guy. At least Grima probably took a bath.

Starscream (Transformers): I mean... Megatron must've brought him back for a reason. He has such a known pedigree of... uhhh deceit and betrayal. Conversely... giant robot transformer.

Kane (Command & Conquer): Some sort of Russian Futurist. Seems pretty trustworthy...

Settra (Warhammer Fantasy): Settra... Great King, the Imperishable, Khemrikhara, The Great King of Nehekhara, King of Kings, Opener of the Way, Wielder of the Divine Flame, Punisher of Nomads, The Great Unifier, Commander of the Golden Legion, Sacred of Appearance, Bringer of Light, Father of Hawks, Builder of Cities, Protector of the Two Worlds, Keeper of the Hours, Chosen of Ptra, High Steward of the Horizon, Sentinel of the Two Realms, The Undisputed, Begetter of the Begat, Scourge of the Faithless, First of the Charnel Valley, Rider of the Sacred Chariot, Vanquisher of Vermin, Champion of the Death Arena, Mighty Lion of the Infinite Desert, Emperor of the Shifting Sands, He Who Holds The Sceptre, Great Hawk Of The Heavens, Waker of the Hierotitan, Monarch of the Sky, Majestic Emperor of the Shifting Sands, Champion of the Desert Gods, Breaker of the Ogre Clans, Builder of the Great Pyramid, Terror of the Living, Master of the Never-Ending Horizon, Master of the Necropolises, Taker of Souls, Tyrant to the Foolish, Bearer of Ptra's Holy Blade, Scion of Usirian, Scion of Nehek, The Great, Chaser of Nightmares, Keeper of the Royal Herat, Founder of the Mortuary Cult, Banisher of the Grand Hierophant, High Lord Admiral of the Deathfleets, Guardian of the Charnal Pass, Tamer of the Liche King, Charioteer of the Gods, He Who Does Not Serve, Mighty Lion of the Infinite Desert, Scarab Purger, Favoured of Usirian, Player of the Great Game, Liberator of Life, Lord Sand, Wrangler of Scorpions, Emperor of the Dunes, Eternal Sovereign of Khemris Legions, Seneschal of the Great Sandy Desert, Warden of the Eternal Necropolis, Master of the Mortis River, Guardian of the Dead, Great Keeper of the Obelisks, Deacon of the Ash River, General of the Mighty Frame, Summoner of Sandstorms, Master of all Necrotects, Purger of the Greenskin Breathers, Killer of the False Gods Champions, Tyrant of the Gold Dunes, Avenger of the Dead, Carrion Master, Eternal Warden of Nehek's Lands, Breaker of Djaf's Bond etc.

Yeah he'll be a great secondary Advisor. Look at that resume!

The Hosts of The View (ABC): I've always wanted to do a show with women of different generations, backgrounds, and views: a working mother, a professional in her 30's, a young woman just starting out, and then somebody who's done almost everything and will say almost anything. And in a perfect world, I'd get to join the group whenever I wanted…

Like all Turians, Sparatus is a military man and a no nonsense one at that. Indeed, his only great failing seems to have been induced by the mad gods (Bioware) of his universe. Sycophants are of little use to the good governance of the realm, and Sparatus is no sycophant.

Imma say, Starscream but it kinda depends on which Starscream given how many there are. Prime Starscream is actually only modestly betrayal happy and also extremely competent at his role, besides probably being the smartest of all Starscreams. Armada Starscream is actually quite honorable and a tragic figure who sacrificed his own life to unite the Autobots and Decepticons against a common foe. Animated Starscream... not so much unless we can get the Female Starscream Clone who was at least moderately capable. Bayverse Starscream appears to not have a deceitful or treacherous circuit in his chassis but also gets even less characterization than most Bayformer characters so who knows?

But yeah, if I could guarantee Prime or Armada Starscream I'd go for them in a heartbeat over the rest.

Can I recruit the View just to make them work a shovel and hoe on a farm?

Absolutely. If that's is a motivation there is certainly a non-zero chance of that happening if you play the Game of Thrones (tm) right I suppose. (y)

Yeah the Mad Bioware Gods thing would be in effect I imagine. So he'll be contrarian to an unreasonable degree I suppose. What would make it more pernicious is that he'll still somehow have the same influence he had on the rest of the Council and Citadel races in spite (or because of) said contrarianism.

Just like how Senator Kinsey from Stargate was so popular a Senator that he could almost become President despite making one terrible call after another on the show.

I'm not familiar with Transformers in general but I had to choose Starscream since he was so different from the other candidates and is basically the embodiment of the scheming sarcastic sycophant. So much so even I'm aware of it. :p

I do think that even the Bayformers Starscream was deceitful. IIRC I thought I was told that he was one of the F-22 Raptors in disguise that was firing on Megatron in the final battle.

Settra The Imperishable. Absolutely Settra, Majestic Emperor of the Shifting Sands, is clearly better than all other choices. What's the problem we are facing? An undead army. What does Settra, Avenger of the Dead, know how to deal with? Exactly.

Can I possibly sub in Sir Humphrey Appleby?

I think the forum discussion and community would actually be better served by a whole new thread on a related tangent or more tailored topic with that chap in some manner of scenario.

Jim Hacker: When you give your evidence to the Think Tank, are you going to support my view that the Civil Service is over manned and feather-bedded, or not? Yes or no? Straight answer.

Sir Humphrey: Well Minister, if you ask me for a straight answer, then I shall say that, as far as we can see, looking at it by and large, taking one thing with another in terms of the average of departments, then in the final analysis it is probably true to say, that at the end of the day, in general terms, you would probably find that, not to put too fine a point on it, there probably wasn't very much in it one way or the other. As far as one can see, at this stage.

As advisers go, he's really useful. Not to the leader, sure, but still!

I'm going for Kane! He'll uptech the place no end!

Just have to watch for the sudden, inevitable mind control, that's all.

I will go with Master Vrook. He is cranky, opinionated, stubborn and persistent in getting his way. So perfect for the role. That and I am an Ed Asner fan.
