It makes one long for the days the writers were vets, and the actors got sent to do ride alongs on warships to learn how things work on a starship.

Videos back up.

I don't understand? Is that a parody or actually from Star Trek Discovery? I glanced at the comments... and am still confused. :p

TNG started as crap, but eventually became better because the people running it realized why it sucked.

STD is crap and will stay crap because the people running it cannot realize anything.

TNG also had a serious quantity of Thespians to carry the show. The modern shows don't have nearly so many stage actors/actresses...

STD is about Micheal. I don’t like Micheal so I can’t get into the show.
TNG is about Picard, Riker, Data, Bev, Laforge, Worf, Wesley, tits the idiot empath (Troi).
I dislike Wesley but I still can watch TNG because while he was given to big of a focus. The others were there and just as important.
TLDR: STD is about one character. If you don’t like her then you can’t get into the show.
TNG was an ensemble cast. If I didn’t like one or two of them. There were 4 others on top of the b cast I can focus on and look forward to watching on screen.

TNG wasn't just an ensemble cast. The actors genuinely liked each other and bonded as a crew. Both Marina Sirtis and Wil Wheaton have repeatedly commented on both how well the cast got on, and how they looked out for each other. And that comradeship shows in their on-screen relationships, because a lot of that was genuine.
