Jobs ahoy.

Unfortunately it says no new jobs will be created in the article. OTOH it is nice to see that the whole “exodus to the EU” that Remoaners complained about isn’t happening.

Still I think more people are going to shift to the UK now that it’s no longer around as a moderating influence on Europe (insofar as such a thing existed anyway). The delays were over the trade agreement and COVID...once things get back to normal, then I expect things will shift.

I mean, we have Macron in deep shit over his failure to unfuck France, we have Germany busy screwing Eastern Europe over in favor of Russia, and we have Italy, who just appointed a new prime minister because they don’t want the right to win power and force a reckoning that results in a no-win scenario for the EU (honestly, I’m looking forward to that).

Meanwhile you have the UK which, for all the problems it does have, is at least out of the EU and as time goes by likely to continue to shut down and shut up the idiots who got them into this mess. And as the Only Sane Country among the European majors, I suspect things will get very interesting.

The EU bureaucracy is also being slow as a snail with vaccines fingers are being pointed and they started pissing off the Irish with their grudge bringing up article 16 at a bad time.

That too. I’m not at all surprised, either; von der Leyen is a complete idiot and incompetent, which is why she’s running the EU as opposed to still in a senior role in Germany.

Seriously, I know the Irish hate the British but honestly they’d be better off sticking with them than the French and the Germans. Especially if something like CANZUK kicks off or a NAFTA+ thing (CANZUK, the U.S., and Japan, for example).

You're talking about a country where it's basically illegal to protect yourself or your property, and the police threaten rape victims with arrest and prosecution for trying to report the crimes committed against them.

I'm not optimistic. Hell, I'm not optimistic about my own country, for that matter.

You really shouldn't be not for the short or medium term for the long term yes but I think its going to take at least 80 years for us to get there.

Its going to be a shit show all we can do is try to survive, hold ground where we can and try to make a better world for our grandchildren, because it wont be good for us, it will not be good for our children maybe our grandchildren will live to see those better days but we get to live through the shit.

As I keep saying, there's also the chance that life-extending treatments currently being worked on may mature within our lifetimes; meaning we might live those 80 years to see that better world.
