From the look of things this is extremely tentative as they're still looking for the most basic elements, like a writer and what platform it will be on.

I'll say I've felt like the Chronicles of Amber has been ripe for its own miniseries for decades, but I don't have high hopes that Stephen Colbert won't turn it into another Rings of Power.

Stephen Colbert is an extreme nerd when it comes to fantasy, his knowledge of lore has been on display time and time again so he obviously has a lot of love for some fantasy works.

Sadly that affinity really means nothing when it comes to butchering the works they may or may not love so much for petty ideological or personal reasons. And Colbert seems the type of person to fulfill the latter.
