It's that time again. Steam informed me rather helpfully through e-mail that seventeen games on my long forgotten wishlist are currently on sale. I might even buy one or two of them I actually want to play... and maybe a few dozen bundles of games for a dollar that might catch my fancy or not... who knows?

Any games on your radar that'll drain your e-wallet?

And of course... Steam isn't the only game distributor in town. Other less expansive storefronts like GoG.com and Uplay and Origin and the Epic Game Store are out there as well.

Anyone else get anything good? I was sadly working most of this weekend and when I wasn't I was with the family so I didn't even get to see much of the Steam sale. But there'll be another one this Christmas IIRC so it shouldn't be too big of a deal. The only game truly on my radar at this moment is Battletech. But I'm sure I'll get suckered into buying some deceptively cheap bundle here or there.

Oh wait... that's not fully true. I did buy something.

I purchased the Valley of the Yeti DLC for Far Cry 4 off of UPlay. That was finally on sale. I did enjoy that game but completely missed out on the DLC when it was first released and likely promoted years ago... I finally rectified that mistake and can finally indulge in engaging in illegal hunting and taxidermy of rare species as I always wanted... and doing it in a poorly regulated, clearly backwards and primitive third world exotic locale instead of Montana!!!

We had the Black Friday sale, the Christmas/Holiday sale should be happening later this month IIRC and lasts a fair bit longer. Rumors are that it'll start around December 19th and last a few days into the New Year if it follows past trends.

I have a piece of paper to write down games that interest me and I check them out during a sale. There are still two dozen titles on, but there is still a backlog to be cleared.
Matrix Games/Slitherine also has a sale that goes to the end of the year.

The only game truly on my radar at this moment is Battletech.

Be warned, loading times are terrible.

Now the Christmas Sale itself has started proper. Only game really on my list to buy from Steam is likely Battletech. I have plenty of games on my Wishlist but honestly they'd probably have to fall in my lap almost for me to actually be bothered to buy them, especially with how big my never touched Steam Library already is.

I like the vanilla game and hadn't tried the DLCs yet, but the most common comment I heard is that they don't offer enough bang for the buck.

Buy it. Both the DLC and the base game are 66% off right now. Basically, that drops the price of each DLC package to eight dollars.

Yeah I purchased Battletech and the bundle of DLC's. Also purchased Battlefleet Gothic 2 as well since that was on 60% off discount. We'll see if anything else sticks out but that might be it. Be nice games to play after the Holidays die down and if I ever get over my Warhammer Total War addiction.
