yes, because some people have posited that clearly there's counters to it and it only worked because FO Admiral dude is an idiot(somehow), without considering what the mere fact of the possibilty DOES to the REST of the setting even ignoring that Hyperpace Imapctors means everyone should be playing rocket tag.
There's a third possibility, namely that using a hyperspeed-bomb was considered the trigger to a MAD scenario where every party starts using them. That would put the "Resistance" in the wrong tho.

...except, apparently TFA didn't ACTUALLY kill Hyperspace being stopped by planetary grav wells(apparently the book said it was more moon sized?) so it's not really MAD since you still can't blow up planets with a hyperspace impactor, so it just kills fleet battles. And the thing is, What stops Pirates from doing it to get rid of enforcement fleets? And if Pirates using Hyperspace Impactors is why the Republic had such a piracy problem why was it only a problem in the Outer Rim? And how did the Empire manage to reasonably successfully crack down on it with big ships that should be super vuilnerable to that sort of thing?

Like, there's a reason the big fear is some rando terrorist group getting ahold of a nuclear device, they don't HAVE to respect MAD. Same for Pirates, for that matter what about Resistance Cells that were more like Terrorists? For that matter what about the Rebel Alliance? They lose a straight forward fight ANYWAY, they only stay alive via secrecy ANYWAY, why WOULDN'T they use Hyperspace Impactors earlier?

Of course, that ALSO is still ignoring that shields that can block FTL collisions+weapons that can breach those shields=Star Wars Ships are absurdly OP and TIE fighters are mini Death Stars.

So I mean I'm still going to watch it but... As cool as the tv spots are (that's all I've seen of the show so far, not even trailers) it seems to imply that the Mandalorians wife and younglings(s) were killed by the Empire. And Gina Carano is an ex Rebel Trooper. I'm already kinda bummed at how... non-amoral or merely slanted this Bounty Hunter might be. 😢

Like another anti hero hero...

Oh, lovely. They've sent me a mo-ron.
Party is totally I AM NOT ALLOW! to such relationships in media. There is already lack of women in China, they don't want to increase the number of their incels via foreign propaganda leading their women astray.
China pimp hand strong.

Disney didn't listen to the bitching but they listened to suck on China's tits for the China bucks. Just photoshop Disney's face on Luke milking the Green Milk alien with China's flag as the face.

Pfff, if anything, it's the other way around, chinese men going to africa to take the women for themselves. What'd you call that tho? RICED? COLONIZED?

How close is the deepfakes to George's actual voice?

I'm sure when the technology gets perfected, the entertainment industry will certainly use them to copyright dead actor voices.

This guy has an entire video narrates the entire Rise of Skywalker plot and what happens in the movie, scene by scene. Watch if if you wish. Don't make any claim to how accurate it will be.

The EU had hyperspace ramming... But three ships larger than an ISD hitting the shields of Executor simultaneously simply knocked the shields out without damaging the structure of the vessel. The assumption then was that not merely the gravity well but the strength of the shielding technology rendered this utilization impossible as an effective tactic; there was no planet worth a starship which didn't have planetary shields (and thus why the Death Star was so important, not because it could destroy planets, but because it could knock down planetary shields).

I'm amused that all the TLJ-excuses about how the bombers are fine and they don't need Y-wings because Y-wings are just too old and obsolete have retroactively been turned into BS, and also amused that each ST movie appears to be frantically trying to fix the perceived flaws of the last one.

To be fair, the TLJ bombers are in an entirely different size and weight class versus the Y-Wing and B-Wing.

..."dropping out of hyperspace right into us"

that sounds to me like a standard ram with the bennie of not getting shot at on the way in. Oh, and probably the downside of not hitting with any appreciable momentum, given that all the dropping out of hyperspace ships we see come to basically a dead stop. Also the EU had some SUPER silly stuff that most people don't consider canon for the sheer stupidity. Like the Cereal Monster.

What about the Millenium Falcon getting out of hyperspace to crashland onto the starkiller planet? Would it be instant death getting out of hyperdrive to crash into an obstacle?

arguably No, and also arguably it set up the hyperspace ramming. Han specifically mentions a shield flicker rate that going fast enough will let them slip in during a flicker, hence why they needed to go in via hyperspace.

looking back at that scene it's terrible for so many reasons that aren't "Starkiller Base looks like a proper planet".

The context is that the ram occurred instantaneously on reversion at c-fractional velocity, you’re seriously saying the incident in TLJ wasn’t the instant before entering hyperspace?

The scene made some sense when Han boasted of succeeding in that one small chance of getting past the shields knowing him. But it would make more sense if he proposed that when he was still in his prime. Saying that in his elder years doesn't feel right.

When the Millenium Falcon jumped out of hyperspace to crash into the planet I'm pretty sure doing it out of lightspeed and then crashing into the planet would kill everyone on board with the rebound.

To be fair, In universe he's probably been waiting thirty years to do something relevant. Keep in mind, according to Star Wars canon the Empire fell in like a year so Han's been shitting about for the past three decades doing nothing of consequence. He probably has a lot of desire and will to do something interesting in this last stage of his meandering life.
