Wasnt she under Lucas for a long while? I am pretty sure she has more expierence with the seires at that end then a lot of people.

Honestly, She may not have made the best decisions, but she has made a lot of money for the series. She has made some decent choices as well.

Lets just wait till we get 10 years of this new stuff and see how thigns go. So 2025.

She worked with Spielberg as well, but as I understand she had more of a "clerk" position in the hierarchy. Not so much making the actual films themselves. Later on, Filoni was more of Lucas's protegee.

Kathleen Kennedy has made far less cash than predicted, and profits are apparently trending downwards across the board. And simply put, Lucasfilm did not have any of these issues before she came along. Not to mention there's rumours of her being an absolute tyrant, consumed by dogma, that has stacked the company with sycophants and deeply divided it between those loyal to her and the older hands still loyal to George Lucas.

I would not be shocked at all if Disney doesn't renew her contract. As another poster stated, no one wanted Kathleen's job at the time, but now Disney must want her gone. The Rise of Skywalker was the final in the coffin and the last agonising wince of regret at hiring this buffoon in the first place.

What ever the reason they got rid of trevarou was thier biggest mistake.

I also dont trust Rumors in this day and age no offense.

If we get someone not like Lucas or Kennedy I would be happy, but until then lets give them 5 more years

Firstly this article is more restrained than I thought it would be.

Secondly “the mainstream viewer” does not care that much about SW. Doomcock does.

I don’t think the ST will ever be decanonized, much for the reasons this article says. But the article vastly overestimates how many people outright like the ST.

Casual audiences that just wanted something entertaining? Sure? Actual fans who spend more than two minutes thinking about it? Not as many.

Decanonizing the ST would definitely get Disney skewered on certain sections of Twitter.

That is not the same thing as the average audience.

I think you Underestimate. TFA and TLJ were hits. TRoS was the Into Darkness of the ST honestly, because JJ sucks at making sequals.

A lot of people like the ST.

It’s a big fandom. Which means non overlapping sections.

I said on SB I wanted to make a bar graph of it one day.

As he himself said, take anything he gets with a grain of salt.

Sometimes I think he loses perspective and inaccurately judges things.

Honestly, on the off chance ANYTHING this guy says is true

It may not be as bad as one thinks, hell, KK’s position maybe shakier than they realize or she can’t as easily keep track of all the non-psychophants

Basically, Disney will be stamping - with an industrial press, no less - "BE MORE LIKE MARVEL AND GIVE THE FANS WHAT THEY WANT INSTEAD OF PREACHING MORALISTIC BS" on every desk at Lucasfilm.

Don’t jinx it, they may start an increase in “moralistic BS” in MCU before KK gets kicked out and those guys after her may try fooling those guys at Disney into thinking it’s. winning strategy because MCU makes lots of cash

Quickly everyone go knock on wood.
On another note the worst thing Disney could have done from a business point was pulling itself out from the production of video games just after they had acquired a ton of IPs they could have made video games for. Hence why instead of LucasArts controlling who made Star Wars games and making some of their own we got EA which has done virtually nothing. Seriously we'd probably have had sequels to Empire at War and Republic Commado, a properly made Battlefront 3 and 4(what I call EA's games, they don't deserve the same title of the original 2),etc and probably still had something like Squadrons and Fallen Order produced

*Looks at reactions to Captain Marvel and her scenes in Avengers...* It isnt that simple. You also cant put all that blame solely on her. Abrams is also to blame

Hollywood will eventually die off, many of them are almost all on the same page

Plus "subverting expectations" even if they don't make sense in-universe is "revolutionary" so can't stop that

That said, glad to know Brie Larson's not gonna be Ahsoka Tano....would have looked pretty creepy somehow, chick's already pretty ugly to me

Say what's your favorite Star Wars ship everyone? Mine would be the CR90 Corellian Corvette(in fact if I was the typical star wars civilian captain it would be my ship of choice, mind you I'm giving it a decent set of guns as the Star Wars Galaxy is a dangerous place). My 2nd Favorite would be the Nebula class Star Destroyer while the T-65B X-Wing takes 3rd.

Star destroyers and x wings.

The x wing books are among my favorite star wars things. The descriptions of what they can do and how iconic they are please me to no end.

Oh I do love the x-wing but you can't go wrong with what essentially a larger Millennium Falcon at least in terms of capabilities. Which is ironic since the CR-90 orginally was going to be the Millennium Falcon
