The PT was never “space C-SPAN)” like some people complained. Senate scenes happen but they are usually one or two per movie.

There are plenty of things people can complain about the PT for, some more legitimate than others-but this was always an odd criticism.

The fact they planned on blowing up Coruscant just as a dig at the PT, tells you everything you need to know about the ST’s writers.

This is the entirety of the Senate/galactic politics in TPM:

The way people talk about it, you'd think it was half the movie.

It already is, actually. They just won't be adding to it anymore. Personally, I hope they continue the Legacy comics.

at this point if they were smart, they'd continue those EU stories. The ST is never going to be the prominet star wars films KK want them to be. Disney Pretty much has already accepted this. the Twilight series demographic that they banked on appealing to abanonded them when TOS released. Why they won't swallow their pride is beyond me.

I find it perplexing why anyone at Lucasfilm thinks that the above mentioned twilight demographic(Reylos arrrrgggggghhh) are any sort of reliable fanbase.

Beyond outright political considerations.

Probably because the majority that works at Disney right now are that demographic, tell me in an alternate timeline you can't see KK and her type laying on a couch in pajama's muching on popcorn while crying during either twilight or the titanic.

KK doesn't strike me as actually caring about anything other than her own ambition and obvious chip on her shoulder.

She made it in a male dominated industry, and likely sees her position as an opportunity to get back at the culture she(feels like) she had to suffer through on her way to the top.

She's the stereotype of the successful yet extremely bitter woman.

You know I don’t know that I buy that about KK. To me she has been struck more as a bag holder. Her people in demographic research convinced her that the old fan base was shrinking and the new one was larger, and by the time she realized she had been misled she was so far down that the only way out is through.

She keeps pushing these ideas, keeps hiring these people to make these products, because remaking Star Wars was to be the crowning achievement of her career, but the only way it won’t turn into a dunce cap is if she somehow makes what she’s already done work.

Eh I prefer not to use that term, given the way it has been used recently.

But eh yeah?

She supposedly threatened to "burn this nonsense to the ground" referring to her power struggle with Jon Favreau or something.

So its obvious she sees SW as a vehicle for something else.

How Disney hasn't fired her and/not renewed her contact is a mystery that rivals the fact Her Majesty's Armed Forces haven't "accidentally" bombed the treasury building at least once . Seriously if I was in charge of Disney the second I saw the scripts of The Last Jedi(and they would have been delivered to me within a day of being completed) and to a lesser extent Solo I would have cleaned house.

Honestly, I think she’ll only keep failing upwards for the next decade, afterwards, odds are much of the entertainment industry will have changed or gained new competitors of a different mindset

and this is why I view giant corperations as the same thing as political and government entities.

Only thing different about mega corporations today and those in fiction, is that the first realized that giving lip service and agreeing to a bunch of “feelgood” or “well intended” policies would make them look like saints

They don’t need to buy out or physically attack, threaten and blackmail new companies. They can force standards on others that they can survive, but not them

The use of a PMC is unnecessary when you got PR or the ability to make people think you’re an ally of something they wouldn’t dare criticize

Wasnt she under Lucas for a long while? I am pretty sure she has more expierence with the seires at that end then a lot of people.

Honestly, She may not have made the best decisions, but she has made a lot of money for the series. She has made some decent choices as well.

Lets just wait till we get 10 years of this new stuff and see how thigns go. So 2025.
