She has a successful actress career and she had no trouble being cast in Wonder Woman. Pressing X to doubt israelis face any serious issue getting roles in general on that basis tbh.

Edit: Natalie Portman is also israeli, pretty sure she's been in Disney movies.

Just watching Clone Wars again, and Anakin had a Sebulba poster in his room at the time of his first dealing with Rush Clovis.

I don't think Anakin ever realized Sebulba messed with his Podracer before the race that day, and was still kinda a fan of his in a 'one-professional-to-another' type fashion for the rest of his life as a Jedi.

Having looked into some of the lore a bit more (not all of it, mind you), the Galactic Empire comes off as strangely Roman sometimes.

The way Palpatine holds power on the shoulders of the military whilst giving lip service to the Senate is quite reminiscent of a "Princeps Senatus." At times he resembles Augustus more than Satan.

"High Human Culture" seems to be an attempt at implementing an overarching culture for the entire galaxy that creates a more united and stable Empire (Palpatine was trying to crush multi-culturalism, lol).

And whilst it practices slavery, it seems to be more of a system of battle captives than the full blown chattel slavery of the antebellum South (or what the Hutts practiced).

Taking such things into mind, if you wanted a more nuanced portrayal of the Galactic Empire, drawing further inspiration from the everlasting glory of Rome might be a good idea.

Ah I love the smell of missile spam in the morning
the whole Kylo Ren somehow cripples a 3km ship with only 2 supporting fighters once again confirmed to me that if I was in a navy in Star Wars I'd want to be on a Battlestar inspired design with its hard to hit hangars and command deck and robust AA. Sure the Raddus almost certainly was massively under armed and crewed as compared to its original compliment it had while serving the NR but 3 fighters was enough to cripple her? Would it have killed them to make it say at least a few squadrons worth?

TbH the best thing to do would be to depict the outer rim territories as fanatically loyal to the Empire because while they were tyrants, they are also the only reason Rygar the moisture farmer hasn't had a sand people raid on weeks or bipo the whatever the fuck twelve planets over hasn't needed to sell his daughters into sex slavery with the Hutts to keep from starving because while the Empire doesn't let nonhumans serve in combat they sure as hell are happy to have them as laborers, technicians mechanics, and researchers in their shittier territories and it pays well.

Which mirrors a bit how certain cultures where human sacrifice was a big thing tended to love Rome and other people's loved Roman cities and Roman security.

It'd also contrast with the New Republic being mostly led by former elites of the old order and you could market it as "a middle class thing where they didn't really realize how corrupt the old republic was because they never lived out in the mean streets of the outer rim."

I liked it when the cute female Rebel pilot winked at me. Made me feel seen.

She exploded to death like a moment later though.

But that was fine too.

Turned out she was winking at that alien pilot anyways.

Heh-heh.

Also, I should probably add Palpatine’s bass-boosted lightning storm to the (admittedly small) list of scenes I’m willing to rewatch. But that’s just me.

Essentially, the Outer Rim gets a taste of "Pax Romana" and can't get enough of it? That's probably how a shit ton of people felt under Roman rule and it makes sense that it would apply here as well. At the very least, with the Imperial Navy on patrol, piracy should be plaguing the Outer Rim far less than it did before, which is tremendously beneficial to much needed commerce. Honest merchants can actually make a living under Courscant's rule, instead of turning to crime.

Exactly, there's a reason why strong men figures tend to be regarded so well by such a large minority if not outright half their respective countries after they step down/die. And why so many Baltic states turned to hardcore nationalism and almost shamanic mysticism and other shit post the collapse of the USSR. Rule from Moscow created a corrupt superstate where gangsters conspired with bureaucrats to profiteer and when the men in uniforms backing the bureaucrats crumbled and came away the chains got taken off. So they tend to look fondly on the people who promise to bring back a thing that was stolen from them nearly a century before they were all born and to restore quiet, safe neighborhoods.

The Republic withdrew from the outerrims in all but name after Ruusan and the Hutts moved in, its easy to see the outerim and part of the mid rim even saying "Fuck the New Republic."

TBH an enterprising council of Moffs could even create a Varangian guard type unit out of nonhumans in those territories...For optics and because those guys tended to be hardcore.
