So to whom would you suggest STO? Just wondering if it is general, or if it is more fun to a specific type of person.

I think it has a certain level of general appeal, but if you're not a ST fan a lot of the references and plot points will go over your head. But if you like spaceship combat but not hyper-detailed X-universe style combat, it's still fun.

STO has a good space combat with more or less 3d movement (though with plane style movement not full scope) that's quite reminiscent of the Starfleet Command games in many ways, though faster paced. It's ground combat is action-rpg style sometimes with a squad of AI NPCs and is... unique. I can't say it's good but it's also not bad, and it has surprising depth if you really look into it (especially, surprisingly enough, the melee combat system), but at the same time it's a bit clunky, but it's serviceable and can be fun.

Storylines are all solid, though the best storyline is still the Romulan storyline (and I'm not just saying that due to personal biases). There's been some executive meddling in the last year though, forcing them to feature Discovery stuff by CBS but, well, at the same token, it also means CBS is vested in STO and sees it as an integral property, so it's unlikely to completely go away. There was also rumors going around that the Picard producers consulted with the STO story team to see how they took the post Nemesis Trek universe, so there seems to be a degree of coordination that you don't typically see with MMO tie ins.

Anyone who wants to play a good game and not have to buy said game with Real Life money. You can literally get many things done in STO by just grinding if you so choose too. Of coarse nothing is preventing you from going full on Wallet Warrior if you want to.

Harlock

I should have expected that really
Yeah, I have a decent endgame set up without spending a penny or spending 8 hours a day grinding. It's pretty good if you play the exchanges and look for deals

I might have to check it out, because I distinctly remember enjoying Rebel Galaxy.
The space combat is a mixture if modern day planes/world war 2 with more 3d movement, easier to spin around 36p and everything, like in space. The stories are good (Standard Star fleet and Klingon are best in my eyes.)

Well after some testing I have to give a thumbs up to the Lorca space set. It is a decent set for those wanting a Phaser build. :)

I need to know how to properly build a ship

What kind of ship? Because there are some general rules I'd suggest (science ships run torpedoes, cruisers have broadside means, cannons for escorts, etc), but if you have an idea for a specific thing you want to do or try I can be a lot more helpful.

I usually use cruisers for my characters. Thiugh I make try other ones eventually after I complete the mains story. I'm just made I messed up with cruisers and bought a bird of prey with my gorn. I was mad
Well Timberwolf's channel can help you out with some good builds.

Uh that is very helpful. When I phase up in the next couple weeks and get my computer j will try these.
