What If? Star Trek Federation is transported into the 40k galaxy

The Cabal made things worse and the Space Elves killed them off.
Well you are free to post the relevant passages were it's established the Cabal were lying in their intentions/ were wrong.

Refresh my memory, wasn't a large portion of Stardleet's upper ranks basically taken over by some bug-like parasites in one TNG episode?

Yes, nor is that the only parasitical parasite the Federation encountered and defeated. And the example in question was far more insidious in its infiltration than run of the mill Cultists. And it demonstrates the strength of the Federation. That when leaders started being corrupted rather than blindly following them Starfleet captains immediately started trying to uncover what was wrong. Granted everyone but Captain Picard got red shirted because TV Show but the point remains.

And then there is the problem of the Founders infiltrating them during the Dominion War.

Yes. And Changelings make Genestealers and Cultists look like child's play in terms of infiltration.

Humm, a remnant of humanity that did not get smashed back to single planet technobarbarian status having advanced technology you say?
You were the one who made the positive claim regarding where they got their technology. Was there anything stated to that affect, yes or no?

However, the biggest test to their viability, that being their continued existence in the face of Chaos's machinations, failed, they were all exterminated.
They lost to the Imperium and outside of instigating the conflict we have little if any data they played a part in that conflict. And the Imperium winning that conflict no more validates its social order than the USSR managing to be on the winning side in WWII.

Bit like saying DS9 was left-wing because it conflicted with the idealized super-perfect perception of the Federation.

Very funny dodge attempt, but my point about outliers and consistent organization-level performance stands and the silly dodge does not work.
Oh its very funny since you confused a character who's most famous phrase is "I'm a Doctor not X".

As to the rest, Its a little unclear you've proven the Interex are anomalies. Out of the societies we are given any decent amount of coverage on Orks, Tau and Necrons either don't fall to Chaos or do so at far smaller levels than humans do. So at least by the criteria of Chaos resistance all are superior to the Imperium. So we're at 4 groups counting the Interex. Five if you want to classify the Tyranids as a civilization as opposed to one gestalt entity.

Then there is world Sixty-Three-Nineteen which despite having a Chaos tainted Whisperheads and the implication of at least some followers of the Chaos Gods, had seemly had not been meaningfully corrupted despite presumably surviving the six or so thousand years since the end of the DAoT or a significant fraction of the Imperium's current age.

So how many worlds do we really know were destroyed by Chaos corruption, what the exact circumstances were and how many total worlds are there? Only then can we begin to determine what is and isn't a statistical anomaly.

No.
They work, and the Emps tried.
But Choas using time antics caused the primearchs to be separated allowing them to start thier plan.
That and the Birth of Slaanesh was sort of caused by a bunch of Noise marines singing inside of Fabius Bile's ship with some wraithbone that had grown through it after he had implanted it into some space elf that wanted to fuck him over in some way amplyfying the song.

Yeah, lots of time fuckery, and yet people think that Chaos could not deal with a bunch of Elf-larper humans and their monkey friends.
And it is diffrent from Trek where as Time in the Warp isn't a thing.
Time travel happens inadvertently. You can go into the Warp and a Rouge Warp current and boom, you are in the future during the fall of cadia 10k years in the future, or boom, you are in the past 10k years at the fall of Baal

Orks, not so much. Federation technology is woefully deficient at protecting from an axe to the face compared with their outstanding protection from demonic energy-being possession.
I like this. All this talk and build up of Chaos as being so OP and it's the greenskin soccer/football hooligans who are the real threat. xD

At least in space the Federation might be able to parlay their sensors, reliable non-Warp based FTL and real time communications to achieve a force concentration advantage against the Ork Freebooters.

But on the ground its going to be a bloody nightmare as the Orks bring artillery, war waggons and fighta-bombers against a force who primarily just field light infantry. Admittedly with Starship support or shuttles when available but the Federation as a whole really doesn't *do* ground warfare. I imagine Starfleet is going to take some nasty lickings before they adapt.

Orks could also appear and smash into any of thier planets. Then it starts the infection.

Orks are a problem because you can't get rid of the spores easily and because of their insane numbers, schizotech and their resistance to the Warp.
Which is all logical, considering they were created as a bioweapon to fight, among other things, warp entities that the War in Haven unleashed.

This is interesting.
But for all their durability and strength, the krork possesses a critical weakness: the bond between the algal/fungal helix in its DNA can be retarded while in spore form, which results in the growth of stunted and weakened creatures. This can be done by introducing a chemical retardant, one present in any civilised world in the Imperium of Man: dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, which you might know as weed killer. The problem now is how one might deliver ample amounts of the compound to a krork in order to affect all the spores it releases. Hollow-point rounds, perhaps?

This appears to be from a book called Xenology through I haven't been able to obtain a copy to confirm that. So if the Federation begins studying Ork corpses its possible they might also stumble upon this weakness. Through its a toss up if they would actually exploit it since it is technically poisoning the unborn children of the Ork race.

You mean the same Xenology that had a description of a half-Eldar half-Human space marine that was the chaplain of the Ultramarines and not Trigurius?

Yeah, thsr thing for retconned, and even thought the Orks are orders of magnitude Wesker than the original Krork they are still an extremely potent Ancient Bioweapon, and I doubt the feds will find it easy or quick to clean up spores and Ork infestations.

Wouldn't know since I haven't read this particular book. Through I don't see why an error in one portion would necessarily invalidate a different portion.

Yeah, thsr thing for retconned
If you have the passage where it says Ork spores are not weakened by dichlorophenoxyacetic acid then I'll be happy to concede that is had been retconned.

It has been retconned.
And we can also know this by the fact the Imperoum have tried to eradicate orks on various planets by multitude of means.
Burning them has been the only efficient way to prevent ork bodies from being turned into spores for the future.

We know that once the Orks find our about something can make themselves immune it via thier mind.

The sotry goes that guardsmen who ran out if ammo started shouting Bang bang amd were killing Orks.
The Orks then said tank tank tank and were immune.

Ork weapons are often just metal slabs that only shoot because they believe it.

They actually think the color red goes faster, and it does.

The Orks would probably find out that the nee Humies are weak and can't do anything to them because they don't have big bad showy weapons.

What was the details of their attempts. Suffice it to say the Imperium isn't known for its scientific or problem-solving acumen.

And this story is from where again, precisely? Book title, page number? Because as far as I know the whole Ork technology runs on belief was only ever an in-universe theory because the Imperium couldn't understand how their tech worked. And we know Ork technology works in and of itself since Commissioner Yarrick has had a power Klaw for ages in the fluff. Not to mention theirs at least one example I can dig up of Commissioner Cain stealing an Ork buggy and it working perfectly fine.

Orks very a lot tech wise.

There have been sources claiming Tech Marines have taken apart a shootah and ot was literally a metal box with bolter rounds and bits inside. And it only worked because the orks believed it.

And if weedkiller worked Orks would probably not be a threat.

Because the Imperium would have definitely solved ir.

And for the Imperium solving things.
The AdMech arnt afraid to experiment if it means beating back the enemies of the Imperium.
For instance a world such Catachan has things that weed killer would help against.
It does nothing there.

Flamers are the only way to actually wipe out the Orks. Even then you can't.

We also have no evidence weed killer actually worked

. . .

Sorry, that's an old, OLD joke from at least WW2 if not older. My father told me that joke when I was a kid long before WH40k had been publishing things. Normally the two sides are an America and a Germany. But yeah... I'm surprised you'd never heard it before that reference.

Ork tech is schizo for two reasons, one, because it is genetically encodedinto them and two because of the WAAGH! field.

I imagine any starfleet engineer or scientist that has to deal with it will get an aneurysm in short order. :ROFLMAO:

I mean with the fact there is a half elf half space marine being the Smurf chapter master should be enough.

He's not the only half-Eldar Ultramarine either. So no, that doesn't remotely afford us a license to ignore canon.

UM-HEROES-NASTASE-01.jpg

Hey, check it out, an Eldar rune overlaying the Ultramarine one on a pauldron.

This parody comic isn't canon, of course, but it does neatly establish just how many sources in the game agree there's half-Eldar Ultramines running around.

They shouldn't, not in technology since its all derived from the same set of encoded knowledge baked into their genes. Now designs fluctuate since each Ork Mek just basically builds what he wants, and is building it out whatever scrap he can scrounge.

Further you are suggesting Orks can build Power Klaws that truly function but guns elude them?

There have been sources claiming Tech Marines have taken apart a shootah and ot was literally a metal box with bolter rounds and bits inside. And it only worked because the orks believed it.
This is from the Ork Codex? A novel? A videogame?

And if weedkiller worked Orks would probably not be a threat.

Because the Imperium would have definitely solved ir.

Well we have evidence that weedkiller does work. What we don't know is if the Imperium solved it or not. Whether that's because they don't know weed killer works on Orks or simply are unable to devise a suitable delivery mechanism.

And for the Imperium solving things.
The AdMech arnt afraid to experiment if it means beating back the enemies of the Imperium.

The Admech is a religious institution, not a scientific body. That alone will impede any "experiment" since anything that violates a preconceived "Truth" is going to be risked being heresy. Further its an open question how much of their tech even the Admech truly understands and how much is just blind monkey repetition mangled with mysticism and useless rites. To quote the codex:

Technology is but dimly understood by the mass of humanity. Be they erudite scholars, military heroes, the pilots of spacecraft or ragged serfs, the majority of Mankind attributes the operation of technology to fickle machine spirits that must be beseeched with the proper rituals of activation and appeased with offerings of sanctified oil, sacred unguents and the like. Only the magi of the Adeptus Mechanicus posses true repositories of technological lore...Yet even these insular priests make no distinction between technical blueprint and sacred scripture, component and holy relic. Their prayers are delivered in blaring binharic cant, their repairs conducted as incense-wreathed rituals and the constructions of their revered machines performed by rote rather than understanding. Experimentation and inventions are considered tantamount to heresy.

Core rule book, copyright 2020, page 45.

So its quite possible the Imperium has never found out weed killer works because no one understand why weed killer kills plants or can conceive how it might be applied to Greenskins.
