Resolved Something is Very Wrong with the reply box

I'm in the process of putting together a rec list in the Star Wars thread, and it very quickly drove me up the wall. Try and put a link in? A random chunk of text at the bottom gets linked in addition to the bit I highlighted. Put something in italics? Everything after it gets italicised as well. Sometimes. Same with bold. Etc. etc.

Go into BBcode mode and you can't click and drag to highlight, that just pulls the whole box, and if you're trying to highlight a URL you half the time get directed to that page and half the time it drops an extra copy into the box.

I don't know if it's some crossed wires somewhere in the site code or if it's something on my end. I'm doing it in a word doc for now, but trying to make normal replies to threads like that is not optimal.

Edit: I should add I'm in Firefox, and running a bunch of extensions that block trackers etc., could one of those be interfering?

Yes, those could very much be the source of the problem - certainly if you have more than one running at a time.

Go open edge, assuming that you haven't added any addons to that, and see if the problem persists.

Doesn't seem to do it in Edge. I suppose I'll just have to do everything in Word then. Cheers anyway.

Then it is probably one of your addons (or an interaction between several of them) causing the problem. Sorry, but I don't think we can do much of anything to help with the issue.
