The plot actually moved forwards, so it gets a pass with me. I really wish people's semblance levels weren't so randomly arbitrary. Its really difficult to tell how tough they are and how well matched the fighters are. Was the Grimm dude anyone we knew or just a rando?

Thats a pretty childish way to look at it. Embarrassing.

I actually liked it. I found it a good episode, especially for a return, and the tension was nice, especially with the new revelation about the new grimm.
Playing spooky music while a creepypasta edgelord walks around rooms with even lighting and the brightness turned down on the entire screen does not tension make just because his attacks arbitrarily are super effective only when they have to be like a bad anime character.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't resist. You like what you like; I won't rag on you too much for it. Even if I do think your taste in entertainment sucks.

Hey, I like what I like. It is mainly one of the few shows I have a somewhat connection to in many ways so. It helps.

At least you aren't Ship

Children of Remnant by Selene Sokai on fanfiction.net just finished
223k words. I thought it was decent and is worth a read if you have some time to kill or are interested in RWBY fanfics.

Various characters that were given to Salem as hostages as children in order for a temporary truce are making a visit to the wider world as late teens.

Details, if you do not mind?
Well...Spoiler
Long story short everybody but Oscar leaves the whale and it's revealed that Ozma has been using his cane to slowly stockpile his magic over the years and after they evac he blows monstro up in a nuclear sized blast.

Cinder gets mad that Watts tried to kill a hacked Penny before she could get the maiden powers off her. Then when Cinder tries to shanghai Watts into helping her get Penny back under the threat of death while hanging him over a building, Watts proceeds to give no f-ck and burn her on every flaw and mistake she has made in the show thus far in an epic speech which stuns Cinder so much that she literally drops him without murdering him and goes to be by herself shaking with tears visible in her eyes.

Robyn and Qrow escape which send Ironwood into a further decent into madness, her orders all SDC planes shot down when it only distracts from the Grimm and then he openly orders in an ultimatum that unless Penny is returned to him he will use the unused bomb on Mantle and Kill her friends

...

(Yeah I am sorry Ironwood is undeniably antagonist now.)
All in all I am constantly worried about how this season will end, more so than even Volume 3 as their is no easy road to closing the volume and it won't end perfectly happily most likely.

In one of the few legitimately badass moments in the series Oscar uses Ozpin's cane to nuke the dreadwhale. Watts give Cinder the most cathartic talk down of the series right when she's about to kill him and Ironwood, recognizing that there's been too much good writing in this episodes, threatens to nuke Mantle if Penny (who is currently unconscious because of his orders) doesn't turn herself and her Maiden powers in.

I for one am comforted that RT continues to remain in character and rescue their show from the jaws of adequacy.

EDIT: And ninjad by something more comprehensive.

Cought up.... HOLY SHIT WHAT GOOD EPISODES!
I love the addition that Jaune is willing to do what ever it takes to help his friends, and shows no fear while doing it. I also love how they are showing in those two episodes, just how crazy James had gotten, as well as how much Salems underlings no longer trust her.
Emerald, Hazel and Neo all betray her in seperate ways. Neo in the sense she stole the lamp and vanished without a trace, only to hold it over Cinders head. Emerald and Hazel in saving our heros lives.
Ironwood is now the bad guy for the remainder of the volume.

I feel ACE-OPs will have all but one member betray them. Harriet wont, but Winter, and at the very least Marrow will. Elm and Vine may.

I really cant wait for the Nora Ren reuinon.

Also, In the Ship world, no new confirmations about Jaunes. He only held both of Rubys hands, and did nothing with weiss so nothing new there. At least he did not have the chance with Weiss yet.

I cant wait to see how this volume ends, but it doesnt smell good. I sense some death flags, mainly from Ironwood. I could see Emerald becoming a part of our ever growing cast list.

Fuck Emerald. That bitch contributed to the terror-attack on Beacon, gleefully helped Cinder whenever possible to impress her, and generally acted as a traitor to humanity, but we are supposed to forgive and forget because she looks sad and says she's sorry while being a woman.

actually, everyone but Ren and Oscar are saying just to let her go, and even Emerald says. Just let her go and let her leave.
Mainly, cause without her, Oscar would still be captured, and Atlas would fall.
oscar/ozpin told them she is usefulness her semblance.

jaune definitely was not happy about it.. mainly cause of the pain she brought pyrrha emotional pain not ling before her death

I will again say Watts roast of Cinder definitely ranks as one of the top moments in RWBY

As for how the Volume will end? I am not sure, All I can say is I want Willow, Whitley, Winter, Robyn and finally Watts to make it through.

Jaune's ship options at this point are as you say Ruby and Weiss.

Weiss did go with both Jaune and Oscar to the movies, within the last few days of the start of the current season, and while it wasn't a real 'date' it show's that Weiss has grown close enough to him that she feels it wouldn't be awkward or annoying.

In the end I wouldn't worry as I don't think RT is trying to rush relationships beyond appeasing toxic bumblebee shippers and we have seen that backfire enough already.

Oh, she can be let go. The same way Scar let Mustafa go. I see no reason to grant her any wishes except to twist them genie-style.

Let me have my SHIP MOMENT FALLOUT!
But agreed. I do feel like they will become relevent later on, but nothing this close to where we are. You also forgot to mention Renora, since it is confmired confirmed. and it bumblebee has back fired? Explain.

The Watts roast was really really nice, and I see the Schnees making it through, with Robyn taking the Mantle seat for the council, and perhaps Winter or WIllow, maybe even Whitley taking the Schnee seat. Who takes the Generals? No idea.\

Also, WHITE KNIGHT BEST SHIP!

She will have to earn the trust of the cast. She only has Oscars and Rens. the rest do not like her or trust her.

My talk about bumblebee comes from the fact a lot of fans including myself feels it's been overly forced with little build up, Adams death for an example was shamelessly used to promote the ship and it felt badly forced.

I don't have problem with Bumblebee but I really just feel like the chemistry between Blake and Yang just isn't enough and I and many others feel like RT went all out with shoving it down our throats in an unnatural fashion because the 'woke' shippers kept pushing for it to happen right away and kept accusing RT of 'queer baiting'

If you like Bumblebee that's fine but you can't deny that RT has had it's problems with introducing the ship without making seem shoehorned in last minute.

As for Atlas and Mantle? I am really going to be surprised if Atlas or it's military even exist by the end of this volume unless theirs a plot devise to save them. (Most likely Raven using her portal to Yang to send reinforcement's from another academy, which would be cheap)

If the military does for whatever reason survive though it will probably be Winter who seizes the reigns unless Ironwood has dismissed her from the chain of command.

Oh, yeah I fully agree. I was just wondering what you were getting at. The forced Bumblebee is the part i dont like about the shot the most. The rabid fan base for it is insane and even caused a whole volume of songs to be deemed un canon because an editor did not put the song in the volume...

I feel like Winter and Harriet fight for the top spot, and Winter takes it, leading Atlas, while Whitley gets the company.
Even if he dismisses her, she would be able to make a come back
