Given the lowest temperature on record for Syria is something like 6.8 degrees Celsius and it's currently something like -3 degrees Celsius in Ukraine, i'm not sure what experience they think Syrian fighters are going to bring to the table...

If it was an idea being seriously entertained by the Russians I'd assume they'd think the Syrians might have more urban fighting experience.

Err the coldest weather in syria in the city of aleppo of Gary jouhnson fame was -17C, and that was in 2001 so not too long ago. well below your claim. in case you weren’t aware deserts can get cold, they just lack water.

That isn’t remotely the case tough?
Based on what I am seeing, I am not sure the Syrians are going to all be on Russia's side.

Been hearing rumors on Twitter that it's actually Turkey sending the Syrians to Ukraine, and Turkey has it's own issues with Russia. So it's possible some of those Syrians are going to be sent to help the Kiev gov, not the Russians.

Also, as for the cold and dispersed convoy, that is happening because it's gotten cold enough for the ground to start freezing enough to move tanks and AFVs across it without getting stuck in the mud.

Nothing concrete to prove either theory at this point, but it's worth keeping in mind over the next week or so.

Well alrighty then, guess that's a nudge-nudge, wink-wink to certain Eastern European nations that if they decide to do something about Ukraine, the US will still defend them.

Guess WW3 is a go.

Uh, that statement from OsintDefender is deliberately misleading. And yes, I despise Biden myself, but Biden basically stated the US would defend Eastern Europe countries who are NATO members if they were attacked. Which is part of the NATO defense charter. Unless there is actual video or text of Biden stating that he’d suggest Eastern Europe should have a free hand to attack Russia? Because that would be stupid and contradict the Biden administrations earlier efforts to keep the Poles from selling MiGS to the Russians as they saw that escalatory to begin with. I’d want to see official statements first before everyone starts flying off half cocked on a suggestive statement someone made on Twitter.

He said it was only a partial quote on video; my guess is the inference comes from the way the MiG sale/exchange/whatever is going and the knock-on implications from it, as well as Biden's support for it.

I think what Biden is implying, in his stumbling speech, is that if Poland was to unilaterally do the MiG sale to Ukraine, and not requesting the US act as a intermediary, they would still be protected by Article 5, in case Russia decides it counts as NATO entering Ukraine.

If Putin actually does do something to Chernobyl and tries to blame it on Ukraine, he will be shitting all over the legacy of sacrifice of people from all over the USSR, who lost thier lives trying to contain and mitigate the radiation hazards after Reactor 4 went up.

Anyone else remembering Russia claiming Ukraine was working on a "dirty bomb"?

It's more than misleading, it's downright false. Biden, for all of his faults (and they are legion), did not in any way say that we're going to start World War III. He said to Putin basically "If you're eying the Baltics or any other member of NATO? Think again. We'll fight. And you think Ukraine will have sucked? Well, this will suck worse."

This was a very measured if an unclear message from Biden. I give it a C+. What he should have said is "Article V does my talking for me, Mr. Putin. Fuck around and find out."
