One does not air bridge in any meaningful amounts of heavy armor, and even then not quickly, even USA doesn't have the airlift capacity to consider that worthwhile.

>may have bought
:D
kalashnikovs and surplus military gear aren't that expensive. The two republics were not without resources. Also, have you seen the prices of coal lately?
They also had some of their industrial production restored.
The two breakaway republics were not without resources.

A topless Russian T-80.

Traffic Jams and People Sheltering in Subways in Kiev

And people Sheltering in Kharkov Subways

Other media detailing destroyed Ukrainian and Russian armored vehicles in the same frame, indicating close proximity of fighting near the topless T-80 location.

Like, I really don't care about what justification or reason both sides use. The invasion is happening. NATO is sitting it out, the EU looks like it will. The only question is Biden when he wakes up.
He will sit it out, just announce new sanctions and try to send weapons. Like I said before the rule since the Cold War is no direct conflict between nuclear powers. Especially since Europe isn’t getting involved.

From a military POV, I'd say the Ukrainians may be trading space for time. I am not 100% sure of this, and the landing at Antonov airport along the Kiev ring road certainly is a pain in the arse for the Ukrainians to deal with. But, so far, I don't see any signs of general Ukrainian
collapse.

Well the Russians seem to be trading losses for speed so it remains to be seen how it shakes out today. If the Ukrainians can keep a coherent force and government together and mobilize they should be able to at least stall the Russians out.

RON/PLC was a wonderful country.
And to the situation, it is better than we thought, Russia's bragging about being able to break through to the Oder River in 8 hours is just bullshit and Russia is not that strong.
But this is only the first day and not even a full day, we have to wait for the next ones to see what the final status will be. For now we have border fights, air fight, landing in Kiev, and who is pushing whom out, we don't know exactly.
Because yes, the Ukrainians are retreating, but how much of this is due to the force of the blow and how much to a deliberate retreat to stretch the Russians? We don't know, and probably won't find out soon.
