You may want to take a closer look into the numbers involved. The Ukraine stuff and even Russia sanctions are pennies compared to the economic burdens USA imposes on itself for purely ideological reasons, but the attention these things get, for some nefarious reasons, is inversely proportional.
Total US aid to Ukraine through the war is about 2% of that. Will it reach 5%?
Also there is the financial trick of giving Ukraine stuff that would be scrapped soon anyway due to age\replacement, though in aid figures it's shown at sticker price.
Why is this not getting the lion's share of attention?
You're not wrong; but from where I'm sitting, the United States is at the point where we're just waiting to see which piece of straw breaks the camel's back, and I'd rather we stop piling them on no matter how insignificant the weight of each piece might be comparatively.

I know after wasted years in the sand box a rather clear cut, righteous war of defense/independence that the West can support seems too good to be true. It is natural to be suspicious of the motives of people in DC after the stolen election, and some people in Ukraine before the corruption purges occurred were rather shady; I haven't forgotten how the Dems used the call to Zelensky to Impeach Trump.

And the economy sucks now, thanks to the impact from the Wu Flu and Biden's purposeful stupidity regarding US energy and resource production.

None of that changes that Ukraine is the good guy here and Russia is the bad guy, and what Russia has done and continues to do requires force and resources to stop, and repel from Ukraine's soil. Worry about the 'bill' once Russia has been pushed back to the 2014 borders, and no longer fires across their border into Ukraine, because cutting support for Ukraine will not fix a single fucking thing domestically, no matter how much fiscal conservatives want believe it could.

And if someone is a member of the 'Russia trad, West globohomo, thus Russia good' crowd, then they are an idiot.
Fair enough. I appreciate the concessions towards being hesitant to trust western governments, and fears about the economy; and you're right about who are the good guys and who are the bad guys in this conflict. But calling people idiots, and implying that they're cowards for not sticking around so that people can heap verbal abuse on them isn't going to win any arguments.

yeah the russians had a lot more resources, a lot more allies, had turncoats inside the west who were willing to collaberate with them and over all were in a much stronger position. Easily worse.

For normal war - yes.postsoviet army is joke after all. But,even now Putin have Germany&France as ally.Something not possible in 1961.
But - if nukes start flying,in 1961 soviets had 30 missiles capable of reaching USA.Now,at least 300.Some of them fall from the sky or be destroyed, but you still would lost more cities now then in 1961.

But,unlike Poland or kgbstan,at least survive as state.

The Biden regime is going to have nuclear war come hell or high water.

his base of power is highly urban enviornment's wipe out chicago and Illinois turns blood red, wipe out Portland and oregon becomes a battle ground state, wipe out seatle and washington flips. Their supporters are highly concentrated republicans are spread out. Once the nukes break out the contry gets a lot more conservative by default.

Delusions of grandeur. Biden thought he could get the Saudis to give up god only only knows how much in profit with setting the US oil. He, along with the rest of the upper echelons of the democrats wouldn't give a damn if the majority of their userbase were to die. They think they'd still win with the media etc on their side. The left always seem to double-down on their arrogance regardless on what a bare hint of common sense would tell them.

Ukrainians are blaming the whole of Russia for the war now, not just Putin, and it sounds like any reconciliation will be decades to centuries down the line in the view of many Ukrainians.
After all the pillaging and more organized assorted war crimes, combined with lackluster opposition of Russian society, that was inevitable.
Turning a piece of Ukraine into a militant North Korea expy 8 years ago was already bad enough to start them on that way.

how about we don't go around assasinating heads of state?
Especially, that next putin would be probably worst.
And play liberal,so USA would lift sanctions, and new putin would take Ukraine after 2030.

Better let old putin finish his state and army. And rule over ruins.
