Available only on the PS5 at the moment, Capcom released a Demo for the Resident Evil: Village game following a format that Capcom used before, including with Resident Evil 7.

Gameplay footage is already on Youtube and both journalists and fans have been babbling about it, though apparently one stand out character in the demo is a tall vampire lady. Light spoilers I guess. :p

It seems fairly obvious the gaming culture has a serious problem with strong women still. Toxic male gamers can't handle women who can stand tall on their own. Sad.

:(

I love how I find out about the Tall Vampire Lady memes from this thread after posting the trailer while everyone else learns about the trailer after being exposed to the Tall Vampire Lady memes. Clearly I'm doing the Internet backwards.

Anyways... lets see some of these memes... (SFW of course)

Markiplier apparently is in the same situation as many of us were when it vame to the mystery of the tall vampire lady infesting pop culture... But alas he's clearly fallen too far... Which isn't hard I guess considering how tall she is.

Spoiler-Free reviews are coming out.

Sphere Hunter states it's pretty good with one notable level exception. It has more variety of enemies and levels then RE7 and takes heavy inspiration from Resident Evil 4. The combat mechanics are improved as well and based off of the directly previous RE games. It feels more survival-horror then action like RE7 and has lots of big scary moments, good boss battle moments, and even the characters feel better. Ethan is more relatable and reactionary and fleshed out. The story is overall good but pretty uneven with some questionable narrative choices and apparently more of an RE4 and RE7 type of story and world building.

The main game doing some of the side quests might take 12-15 hours plus there's replayability via + versions and difficulty modes as well as unlockables, exploration and arcade modes etc.

I'm mostly disappointing that nothing came of all the foreshadowing about Heisenberg being willing to ally with Ethan against Miranda. Fighting alongside a body horror kaiju hasn't been something the franchise has done before to my knowledge and would've been neat.
