So this weekend is Martin Luther King Jr Memorial weekend. This was made into a Federal Holiday during the Reagan Administration. Though MLK's birthday was on January 15h, the Holiday is meant to occur on the third Monday of January.

Anyways I don't want to pull a Wolfbear here but... has anyone seen the new Martin Luther King Jr Bronze Monument that has been unveiled in Boston to honor Martin Luther King Jr on this MLK Jr Weekend and meant to symbolize the strong loving bond he had with his wife Coretta Scott King (adultery notwithstanding) called 'The Embrace.'

I'd say at the very least the sculpture is missing a head but ahhh.... nevermind. No need to go after the low hanging fruit (of which none is evident at least)... :sneaky:

Thankfully from other angles it doesn't look like an external colonoscopy, but still kinda like the epitome of modern architecture that is too wrapped up in the artists surreal and subverted symbolism as opposed to honoring or memorializing something which is assumedly the point of a monument.

Soooo, depending on the perspective it either looks like two hands holding a giant shlong, or someone eating muff. Ooookay, whatever floats your boat, America.

The statue is supposed to be a partial bust or something of a photo of King with his wife.

If they had actually put the heads of MLK and Corretta Scott King on the statue, as they were embracing in the photo, it would have actually looked pretty good and gotten the messaging much better.

Feels like lazy architecture and needless drama.
