I feel a bit better now. Things are not ok with my mom but they could be worse. First session of chemotherapy went fine except the symptoms that came later (nausea, skin irratation, no loss of hair for now). So, this one of my many ideas in alternate history before I discovered the Sietch and got banned three times. This is sort of a fix up I won't finish. For now. Anyhow : here it is in the next posting. Sort of a red-brown alliance after 1945. @Circle of Willis @ATP @Butch R. you might want to read something that is not my delirious content moved to the DonbAss thread.

KHARTOUM, KINGDOM OF EGYPT, 1944

Giorgio woke up, shaken. Initially he thought it was the scorching heat of Khartoum waking him up, almost as bad as the Libyan desert, but his was the OVRA man. The last time he woke him up like that was when the British Prime Minister Churchill had died of a heart attack at the White House two years prior. So it must be good news!

<< Hurry up Almirante. We have to go. >>

<<Where ? >>

<< Back to Italy. Immediately ! >>

<< Why ? >>

<< The war is over. We lost >>

<< What do you mean it’s over ? >>

<< It’s over. The king signed an armistice and we are going to be not welcome here in a matter. The Communists hordes have reached the Meuse river and Berlin will likely fall any minute now. >>

<< Oh my God.>>

<< We are having problems in Abyssinia, so our only way back to our country is going North. I don’t want to risk getting speared by an Amara again! >>

<< How did it happened ? >>

<< Well, we haven't received a communication about the homefront in months. I guess our Duce thought we could still get out of this. Even Japan is surrendering! >>

<< Their situation isn’t like ours…>>

<< I don’t know what the hell happened but the Americans went heavy on them and they wiped off the map two cities. >>

<< What’s new ? Von Greim did the same to the perfidious English and … >>

<< Almirante ! They razed two cities in a single day with only one bomb for each! I don’t know how but they fucking did ! >>

CHAPTER 1 : FATAL OCCURRENCES

11:26 , BASTILLE DAY,1948, ROME

Togliatti and Nilde Lotti were discussing on what strategies to adopt for the future elections , there were many points which they could directly dive head on to make themselves much more appealing to the common Italian folk, perhaps even an alliance with all other leftist parties , maybe even the Christian Democracy itself. Palmiro politely but firmly denied such a policy would be even considered by the other members of the ICP and most of all , himself.

The Christian Democracy had dealt a strong blow to the ascendancy of the Popular Democratic Front, but that would have been resolved if their scenario was favourable, after all, Greece just recently had turned to Moscow side after the KKE won the civil war, so he thought that after the Soviet-Greek invasion Turkey, Italy would naturally be next , though he would need help like the one Malenkov was giving the German Republic, but the Americani were actually beating his beloved Georgian to it, some speculating Italy was first country on their capitalist plan.

They discussed whether they would have a good moment for the Italian people to join the workers of the world , Palmiro Togliatti himself mentally mumbled about it, recalling an article he had read about Indonesia, where the English had executed one of the independence generals , a guy named Suharto.

If the Americani stayed , the only option was a popular uprising like were having against the Inglesi and would have meant more losses, the sheer thought of bloodshed would deter many from joining and he and others would have to ask help from Croato-Slovenia, but bad blood was brewing between the newborn republics thanks to the British Prime Minister, who trusted Tito as much as Stalin, barely convincing Roosevelt to not return the lands that Italy conquered from Yugoslavia just seven years earlier and wondered if the Free Territories of Dalmazia, Istria, Trieste and Lubiana would remain with Italy or Tito’s Federation.

But those were plans that would never materialize or even come to a strategy drawing board.

His slayer had drawn a Smith & Wesson and all of his shots had landed on Palmiro’s head , falling together with Nilde Lotti who holded the leader until someone arrived, uttering nonsense and delirious, but Nilde told him that everything would have been alright, that help was on the way. His hand left the “L’Unità” newspaper he was holding with the front page announcing many .

She started sobbing, realizing it was too late already when she met his blank, dead stare. Palmiro Togliatti, secretary of the Italian Communist Party, was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

The gunman was never caught.

CHAPTER : DECAPITATION

A week later

<< So sarge, what we have to do ? >>

<< Well Donato, we have to protect the new head of state of this beautiful land of ours >>

<< Is it because of the dead commie bastard? >>

<< Yes, exactly. The damn FDP are up in arms because someone killed him. >>

<< Have they caught him? >>

<< Not yet, but the guy leading this country is doing everything he can in order to bring the murderer to justice >>

<< What if he doesn’t ? >>

<< Well, we have to pray we don’t get shot by some Communist. I know for a fact they are having problems up in Germany worse than us.>>

<< Christ , didn’t the Krauts surrendered three years ago ? >>

<< A lot of them did, a lot them didn’t … apparently. For the former , they hanged a few more Generals and SS members, and they were like “You committed crimes against humanity and sentenced to be shot, hanged” or whatever. Whoever was heading the trials tried to speed up as fast as he could so the unrepentant Huns didn’t try to free them up. >>

<< It’s not like they had much choice >>

<< Pretty much. Wallace wants Uncle Sam to calm down Europe as soon as possible. They had to keep the Brazilians here in exchange for… I don’t know what the hell it is, apparently it is a permanent membership for something. They call it a seat in the United Nations Security Council. But I know many want us to return home as soon as possible just as us. >>

<< If we leave we are gonna give Bukharin another country. >>

<< No, my buddy at the Office of Strategic Services says that we won’t let the peninsula fall like Turkey. It’s likely set in stone we don’t. We didn’t fight a war to leave Fortress Europe to another tyrant. >>

A bit agitated , the sarge looked into his pocket for his pack of smoke, a souvenir from Naples black market he really liked.

<< May I have one sarge ? >>

He passed one and lighted them with his Zippo.

<< I am curious Sarge, what you plan to do once is all over? >>

<< Go to South Africa. I have family there >>

<< So you are a Brit? >>

<< My father is a Boer >>

<< A boor ? >>

<< We are like ... Dutchs in Africa >>

<< So you are a white Negro ? >>

He slapped his head so hard that the butt of his Garand might have been a blessing.

<< So, why do you plan to return ? >>

<< Well, their Prime Ministers is incentivizing anyone to come to South Africa. I might have a better shot because of my father.>>

<< That’s good...I guess...shouldn’t we get going? >>

<< You’re right. >>

He initiated the jeep and drove. They passed for the busy docks of Fiumicino, observing all the people going up in the ships , the sargent merely went on but his subordinate couldn’t keep his mouth shut nor his curiosity at bay.

<< What are they doing ? >>

<< They are going away >>

<< Where are they going ? >>

<< Israel >>

<< Wait I thought Israel was in the Bible >>

<< No , it isn’t anymore at least. They have been comin’ and goin’ for the past three years. Hitler really didn’t like them>

<< What do you mean sarge… >>

<< I mean that the bloody krauts wanted to ship them to Madagascar after the war was over, and when they were starting to loose most of them wanted to kill them. They managed to kill half a million of them >>

<< Them who? >>

<< Jews… and before you open your mannerless mouth remember I am married to one >>

Juden Raus! Auf Nach Madagaskar! The sarge could remember from his last phone conversation with his wife’s cousin almost a decade earlier and still sent a chill down his spine. It was remembered when barely three years before they had witnessed the exodus of Frenchmen from their country, when half of the country packed up and flooded Spain to evade the devastation of Europe.

<< Ok sarge…>>

<< Glad we could understand each oth...what’s that on your hand? >>

<< This? … >>

He showed an half torn piece of paper.

<< It’s from ma cousin. He’s still imprisoned in Czechoslovkia. >>

<< Where he is ? >>

<< … I can’t read the fucking names he wrote, look! They are unpronounceable ! >>

<< Let me see…>>

I am in Kosice now, but they are telling us we gonna move Vratislav. I am glad I am not German right now.

He looked one last at the address he had been given and proceeded to go there. It was a typical Italian narrow street , all with kids playing and women going to the market or washing their clothes. Also, the air was warmer than Britain's cold atmosphere and did help to make him like the country more.

When they arrived, they brought their Garands inside and went to the second floor. The sarge knocked in the door and they were let in by a scrawny guy, Italian-American.

<< Gentlemen , I present to you the President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic Alcide Amedeo Francesco De Gasperi,Deputy Prime Minister Saragat , President of the Republic Luigi Einaudi. They have requested our help with current... crisis >>

<< Nice to meet you gentlemen >>

The Italians replied educately. The interpreter explained the death of the ICP leader Togliatti had made wounds and sown distrust which would be difficult to heal and in order to accomplish his objective, he needed a third party to help investigate.

There was also the issue De Gasperi feared being a target of Palmiro’s followers or far more extremist elements affiliated with the ICP and Einaudi agreed. Saragat was more worried with the possibility of his party reputation being tarnished by possible ICP aligned or friendly individuals.

<< We have to take them to HQ, we can coordinate better from there. >>

The three nodded in unison. There wasn’t much they could do or say. They needed to find the man responsible and the American aid was all they could get.

<< Right. Let’s go >>

Three jeeps arrived nearly, two squads from the Brazilian Expeditionary Force and the Irish Rangers instantly followed by another US jeep, the sarge saluted his colleagues that were his escorts as he sat on the jeep, and lit up another cigarette. It was good having support and knowing they weren’t alone, but he remembered it wasn’t a show of goodwill. The Micks entered the war against Germany to reunite with their countrymen and the Brazilians were there just because they had been given a place in the new world order’s spotlight.

<< Let’s move out ! >>

His collegues in arms started their own engines and followed the sarge’s vehicle leading the convoy to the Occupation Forces Headquarters. He let Donahoe drive, the sarge was still finishing his cigarette and didn’t want to waste away his good Campanian tobacco.

<< Sarge >>

<< Oh my god Donahoe ! GET DOWN! >>

CHAPTER 3 : YOU ARE A PARTY

TheRejectionist

TheRejectionist
The dire situation of Italy seemed to be calming down after what seemed as an eternity as was the war. Giorgio was indeed worried, he hadn’t heard from the others of his party after the first party congress in Naples and there was little he could do about it, the ISM and its supporters were not in a position to move freely as they wished, especially considering after they had arrested Marsianich.

His fear would be confirmed shortly, when a letter arrived at his home, recognizing immediately the person who had sent it.

He hesitated for a moment before opening it. Do I really want , or need, to open it?

“Dear Giorgio,

ever since the death of that individual, we had to take many precautionary measures. There was speculation we were being hunted by the reds and their sympathizers. Most of them have fled now to Germany into the arms of Malenkov , hower not before they also took to the other side many of us, those who have not betrayed. I sure you already know about Marsianich but others are not anymore in this world with us a well.

Clemente Graziani, Fausto Gianfranceschi, Enzo Erra, Franco Petronio, Cesare Pozzo, Mario Gionfrida, Nino Capotondi, Franco Dragoni, Alberto Ribacchi and even Borghese .

Its looks they were very effective. I hope they never return. I hope they die in Siberia together with our boys that were caught in the Eastern Front.

You are now the party, Giorgio”

He lingered the most on the last one. I am the party ? There were many things he could have said, but that was the most noteworthy right after the list of the fallen fellow travellers. If there was a clear picture, he wasn’t seeing any, pondering on what to do. When he met with the others and Graziani, the only other certain survivor, he would have sweared the situation couldn’t evolve in such negative direction.

The Movement would have been dead if they got also him , so he would have to be careful and continue delicately. In time , he muttered, we will return.

His mind wandered a bit, thinking on how quickly the country changed and how life would be completely different.

He picked a book and opened it.

All states, all powers, that have held and hold rule over men have been and are either republics or principalities. Principalities are either hereditary, in which the family has been long established; or they are new. The new are either entirely new, as was Milan to Francesco Sforza, or they are, as it were, members annexed to the hereditary state of the prince who has acquired them, as was the kingdom of Naples to that of the King of Spain. Such dominions thus acquired are either accustomed to live under a prince, or to live in freedom; and are acquired either by the arms of the prince himself, or of others, or else by fortune or by ability.

The Italian Republic was indeed a new state, but a dominion of a foreign power.

But in republics there is more vitality, greater hatred, and more desire for vengeance, which will never permit them to allow the memory of their former liberty to rest; so that the safest way is to destroy them or to reside there.

Vengeance. A word many Italians had in their hearts, especially the Lybian and East African exiles, most facing social disadvantage, poverty, loneliness and few resources to help them. He could count on them but it wasn’t enough for a comeback even with the flight of Communists to the German Democratic Republic would certainly help.

The general elections were over and the results were announced. Nearly fifty percent went to the Christian Democrats, FDP had fifteen and Liberals and Republicans had taken a good ten percent together and the remaining had gone to his party and enough had gone to the National Blocs for them to remain in the Parliament.

Almirante’s colleagues , admirers and voters weren’t exactly thrilled with the results but Giorgio knew patience very well and of course those close to him, excluding his two daughters and Assunta Almirante, asked themselves what was going on his head.

It was barely a decade since Togliatti’s death and they were alive without a problem, and what many weren’t realizing, unlike Giorgio, is they had achieved a lot already , without patience the party might as well been confined to the dustbins of history.

<< In battle, I follow you. In politics, you follow me >>

As he meditated about the results , he returned to writing , one passion he never abandoned.

What he could write about it ?

Fiction

or

my own philosophy ?

He decide on the latter, he was a journalist through and through after all.

Which reminds me, I haven’t touched a newspaper in weeks. I have to catch up with the world.

Picking several newspapers at the cartoleria, he sat down at a bench , many people recognizing him instantly like he was a white fly while many would have worried have they been in his place, he didn’t. He had survived the campaign in Sudan, he could survive any attempt at his life.

CHAPTER 4 : A GENTLEMAN'S AGREEMENT

TheRejectionist

TheRejectionist
Moro entered the American embassy under the cover of night followed by his bodyguard and his, visibly

<< Good evening Moro, how are you ? >>

George Frederick Reinhardt welcomed the Italian PM with a warm smile.

<< I am to the point of exhaustion. Politics it’s a heavy burden that, while I take pleasure in helping my country , it’s taking a toll on me >>

<< I can imagine. How are you doing ? >>

<< Well I am fine. But there are something I am here to discuss with you >>

<< What is it ? >>

<< Yesterday I was supposed to meet with Enrico Mattei, Adriano Olivetti and Mario Tchou. I presume you are all familiar with them>>

<< Indeed I am >>

<< We cancelled the meeting >>

<< For what reas…>>

<< A screwdriver was found in Mattei’s plane where it wasn’t supposed to be. This is the third time someone very important to the Italian Republic nearly loses his life. Mr Tchou almost lost his life in a car crash last November and Adriano almost risked becoming a vegetable had he not stayed in Ivrea >>

<< Are you implying that the United States was involved in this avoided tragedies ? >>

<< I am saying you might know has a problem with us >>

The ambassador kept quiet. The Italian was soft-spoken and concise, however docile he was not.

<< All of them are fearing for their life, all of them have possible motives to be wanted dead by someone. Whoever it was >>

<< I understand. I will talk to “him” as soon as possible>>

<< That would be very appreciated >>

<< What I am asking, if you might talk with president Eisenhower and ask him to stop whatever is happening. I doubt his government doesn’t have a clue on what could be happening right now ? >>

He ordered his secretary to make a call

<< Mr. President >>

<< Ambassador, I hope whatever reason you contacted me at this hour it is important. I am about to meet... >>

<< I just talked to Moro a few hours ago. >>

<< Very well. What did he said? >>

<< Sir, he thinks someone is into Italy’s VIPs. My deduction is either one in Congress or someone close to the energy sector or one of our allies. I am thinking about the guys we helped with the former “frog” problem four years ago, and the Big Sisters. Perhaps both. >>

<< It wouldn’t be surprising. What was the name of the guy who...the President of AGIP ? >>

<< Mattei >>

There was a long sigh on the other end of the line, followed by what happened to be a fist hitting the desk and the noise of Eisenhower’s breath, like thinking.

<< … If Moro needs any help, do it. I have enough problem with the Indians harassing… AGAIN I MIGHT SAY! our allies in Lisbon because a few spots on the map don’t belong to them! Our allies risk turning to each other throats would be one more problem I can’t just be bothered by another issue >>

<<I think it well be very appreciated by Moro>>

<< Of course it will. In the meantime , in return I want him to do as I did, he has to recognize the State of Katanga and the Portuguese Federation. Also, after this, call Jumpin’ Jim and ask him what we can do about the French Senate. They have become bothersome more quicklyl >>

<< Sure. No problem mister President >>

<< I really hope this is easier than when I stopped smoking in 1949 >>

Eisenhower hung up. The ambassador was quite surprised, entertained and amused the man in the Oval Office found much more difficult to stop smoking than the greatest conflict mankind had ever known or current international politics.

Not only that, but his predecessor Adlai Stevenson and VP John Sparkman had left him a mess, and Ike was the first Republican in more than three decades. He proceeded to serve himself a bottle of fine Italian red wine.

He proceeded calmly to recontact Aldo Moro and it took

<< Good evening Ambassador, please tell me you have good news >>

<< Indeed I have mister Moro. The President has personally assured me he will...look into it and has told me to be at your disposal. >>

<< Well frankly Ambassador Reinhardt I am… surprised. Really, it is even better than I hoped. >>

<< I am glad you see that way. >>

<< I will need two escorts for Tchou and Mattei, meanwhile for Olivetti… I think an extra team of doctors and physicians would be of much help. >>

<< Very well Moro. For this however, you should know that President Eisenhower needs something in return. >>

<< What ?>>

Reinhardt could feel the heaviness of the Prime Minister. Moro looked calm, but

<< The recognition of the State of Katanga and the Portuguese Federation as legitimate states >>

It took a while to have a response, the Italian was looking at him with heavy, nearly sighing eyes.

<< I suppose his doable >>

<< You are doing a service to Christendom Prime Minister. Both are bastions of democracy and Christendom against the threat of Communism. It’s imperative for the United States the territorial preservation of Lisbon’s Ultramarine provinces and the survival of Moïse Kapend Tshombe newborn republic. >>

<< It risky , I am sure you know that >>

<< Prime Minister Moro, I assure you are country won’t risk a second civil war , unlike South France and the German states your country doesn’t have the threat of the Red Bear looming over and there haven’t been any communists in sixteen years and we made sure of that. Unless you have reasonable concern the exiled one might come back from their Don Kuban’s dachas overnight ! >>

<< I risked being seen as a puppet. No more no less. I will discuss it with the parliament right away, but it’s will take a dent on our popular consensus >>

The ambassador said nothing. Moro didn’t know how to reply to it.

<< In the end of the week my government should agree on it. >>

<< One more thing >>

<< Yes ambassador? >>

<< It would be wise if you told mister Mattei to stop arguing in favor of independence movements, not only because it would result in much more hazardous hostilities between the peninsula and France, but it’s completely useless, despite many would love to disagree. The President wants the NATO allies to be in harmony not at odds or worse, it would only help communism spread further and maybe, maybe...>>

<< What’s is worrying you? >>

<< I don’t know if what Stevenson is proposing is a good exchange>>

<< Why so ? >>

<< I don’t think we will have a problem passing a recognizing Katanga as a legitimate state, what worries me is the aftermath. In the next election we could see both the FDP and MSI gaining on us and using the motto “See ? Aldo Moro is an American puppet.” My prediction is that the Christian Democracy could last a decade if we are lucky if we do as they say>>

<< You worry too much Aldo >>

<< I might , but I don’t want to end up like De Gasperi and I certainly don’t want a second civil war in our penisula, honorable Andreotti >>

<< It won’t happen. Be as it may , we got the majority of both the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies and they will not change quickly. Also with law n*148 we have an edge on everyone>>

<< You are correct. They will not change quickly , but they will , sooner or later , if we keep appeasing Eisenhower >>

<< You should worry more about our own countrymen. Tchou, Olivetti and Mattei should be our...no, your priority >>

<< All right, I just hope he will not ask any more of this recognitions >>

<< I am sure he will not Aldo >>

Moro personally when Andreotti called him by his first name, because he sounded dishonest and an ass licking sycophant. Maybe it was his character, but he surely didn’t want him around if he could avoid him.

<< Andreotti ? >>

<< If you are mistaken, you are out of the party >>

Andreotti grinned.

<< Yeah sure >>

Enrico woke up :

<< Enrico, we have to move >>

<< Wait what happened >>

<< They ousted the government. Everyone’s panicking and I think they are about to get us. We have to leave the country >>

<< What do you mean ? >>

<< We have been outlawed, together with the neofascists.>>

Berlinguer couldn’t believe what he was hearing :

<< My family…>>

<< We already took care of them… They are on their way to Croatoslovenia, then to the URSS. >>

<< Damn, how did this happened ? >>

<< I think it was only a question of time, the Bribesville scandal is hitting everyone. >>

<< What about Moro ? >>

<< Missing. >>

<< I...I…>>

<< We need to go.>>

CHAPTER 6 : TROUBLE IN THE HORN

Mukhtar Mohamed Hussein understood one thing : the President was shot dead by his own guard the Royal Armed Forces might not be on his side for long or they had sided with whoever wanted to be in charge after Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke murder.

He wasn’t in any position to lead the country , unsure if we could count on any of the clans, doubting even of his own for a split second. He couldn’t turn to a foreign power , the URSS wouldn’t be accepted by the people and maybe was even behind the assassination, or someone ideologically closed to it, the same argument could be very well made the United States or the United Kingdom were behind together or the second acting alone.

The closest possible ally,Shirikisho la Afrika Mashariki, would be detrimental to his political future, and the Kingdom of Egypt-Sudan was also out of the question.

He had one choice : the Italian option. Hussein wanted more time to think about it , but then realized he didn’t have such luxury for long. He called his aide.

<< Get me a car. We are going to the Italian Embassy >>

He covered himself as much as he could. Anonymity was the absolute priority with was going around.

There it was.

The Italian guard almost drew his bayoneted Beretta BM 59 towards his face but turned the rifle just as quickly as he recognized him.

<< I need to speak with Prime Minister Almirante. Now, please, while my country still has a future >>

As you can the see, the basic promises are there. Italian neofascism and Italian eurocommunism, represented by Almirante and Berlinguer, were supposed to collaborate after a 1972 "soft" coup.

Oof. Sorry to hear about your mom. Hope she recovers, but it's cancer and that's not fun for anyone.

I am liking the story. The prologue got me hooked and a brief skim of what follows says "yup, I'll set some time aside to properly enjoy reading this".

Thank you for sharing the story.

Historians still like to debate if the bloodiest conflict in history was a blessing in disguise after the dust was settled; if someone goes to Italy, members of the now long dissolved Italian Social Movement and Italian Communist Party both funnily agree on the loss of sovereignty but don't deny the benefits of Western liberation, go to the Kingdom of Greece and they will chant about the retaking of Costantinople, go to the Kingdom of Syria and they will blame the American Zionists for owning Palestine and Sinai, Algeria will make vague citations of Camus while partying like there is no tomorrow thanks to the money gained from the black gold since 1943, Spain and Portugal enjoy the fruits of tourism, the honorary members of Albania, South Yugoslavia, Bulgaria and Romania also don't complain unlike France however is still bitter about loosing their Empire between 1941 and 1945, likewise there is a similar sentiment in Turkey were most in the Turkish political spectrum still curse Alparslan Türkeş* and his clique for forfeiting Istanbul and what are today's People's Republic of Kurdistan and the Armenian Commonwealth of the Sovereign Independent Commonwealths. This book aims to tell the story of this alliance that has changed Europe and maybe, the world.

The Partition of Mandatory Palestine

The partition in 1937 caused a chain reaction of events immediately before and shortly after the end of the Second World War. Ironically, the country that most seemed happy was Hitler's Germany, with the Fuhrer allegedly saying he "got his Madagaskar before than anticipated", with other countries' leaders privately expressing opinions not too dissimilar from him. Less than an year an half later, Adolf Hitler would declare Grossdeutschland free from Jews.

France had already her own issues since the Dreyfus Affair and everybody in politics had something to say about it, most of course were negative, with some newspapers screeching of the Bolshevik Judeo-Masonic plot.
The Kingdom of Italy, or most specifically, Mussolini, made a public discourse in Venice basically saying "what was all the fuss about it?", something Revisionist Zionists were very pleased to hear.
The USSR had treated the newborn state as nothing had happened, although everyone knew Stalin had raised an eyebrow at least and Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands had likely the same reaction and were starting to look at their colonies, worrying and censoring there. The United States discreetly congratulated... Britain, with FDR fearing a pogrom similar to the Anti-Chinese riots of not so long ago, but many agreed the accusation he feared was of being called a Jewish puppet.
Japan was too worried with war against China to make any considerations.
The most inflammatory reaction was Transjordan, a British colony. Abdullah I bin Al-Hussein was livid, remarking before his death in 1980 that "Britain kept mocking the Hashemite name and was reminded of thar every single day of the Sykes—Picot Agreement" .
Britain sent a few hundreds of emissaries for four consecutive years, the discussions and negotiations could last for ours with him and it wasn't until the Second World War he would be satisfied, with the fall of the French (and Republican Colonial) Levant.

Set The Asian Sun

Asia first, also known as Japan first, was the key element of the grand strategy agreed upon by the United States and the United Kingdom during World War II after the attack on Pearl Harbor. According to this policy, the United States and the United Kingdom would use the preponderance of their resources to subdue Japan in Asia first. Simultaneously, they would fight a holding action against Germany in the Atlantic , using fewer resources. After the defeat of Japan—considered the greatest threat to the USA and British Asia —all Allied forces could be concentrated against Germany .

At the December 1941 Arcadia Conference between President Franklin Roosevelt and Prime Minister Winston Churchill in Washington, shortly after the United States entered the War, the decision for the "Asia First" strategy was affirmed. It was also discussed what to do with the Victor of the Franco-Thai Conflict, Plaek Phibunsongkhram, the Prime Minister of the former Kingdom of Thailand and now Empire of Thailand, who had "recovered" all of the territorial losses from French (which meant German) Indochina.
Roosevelt seem to have suggested to leave the country be, one enemy more could not help but only hinder the war effort, especially since the Middle East Campaign wasn't still over yet. **

*This TL Wikipedia. I just switched the countries.

** Plaek Phibunsongkhram/Thailand War Against Indochina is much more successful, they don't join the Co-Prosperity Sphere.

Sir Edward Louis Spears, 1st Baronet, Shot Down Over The English Channel!
18. 6.1940[1]

The war had not gone according to Churchill's plans, with Dunkirk barely counting as a SUCCESS [2] and a friend and ally now was also dead. He reportedly said it was going to be a long war. There were few people who now had a positive outlook for the war, the Luftwaffe bombardment of London making the situation more grim with each passing second. However, there were good news.
British envoy Malcolm MacDonald met with Churchill and discussed his results with Ireland's head of state. The conversation allegedly went as follows :

<< They accepted our offer, although we have to renounce the issue of unity to be agreed by the representatives of the government of Éire and the government of Northern Ireland, otherwise I wouldn't obtained such a deal so quickly
[3]>>

<<Very well, give the drunken bastards* what they want, but they will have to wait the end of the war >>

<< Sir, you are also a drunk >>

<< Certainly, but I am a functional alcoholic >>

[1] Charles de Gaulle gets shot down, he was in the same plane. Here's another POD.
[2] Operation Dynamo went worse than OTL.
[3] Britain is in a harsher position. They give a better deal to Valera, making Ireland enter the war on their conditions.

*I don't have anything against the Irish, I hope that is clear. I thought this was something WC could have said.

THE INVASION OF ROMANIA

The latest failed assassination attempt on Armand Călinescu was what drove the tiny kingdom into the Western Allies camp. The "Defenestrare" was a day, which in modern times became a national holiday, where units of the Romanian army invaded the German embassy, with an enthusiastic crow cheering them.
The consequences were obvious, Germany invaded less than a day later, with King Carol II fleeing the country through a British ship, planning with Călinescu the same idea of the Polish Government in exile, although what they didn't expect was the Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS led by Oskar Dirlewanger, one of the most cruel commanders in the Eastern Front.
The pedophile rapist and butcher, "the animal he was" according to Horia Sima [in XLth anniversary of the foundation of the Rumanian legionary movement, 1927-1967; declarations of the legionary movement concerning the fate of the free world] , "was so insane he didn't even think he was about to doom the war efforts of Germany in Romania. He just raped and pillaged an entire village of Iron Guard supporters and every single Romanian hated Germany, Hitler and Dirlewanger from Bukovina to Dobrogea".
The news was used rapidly by Britain, her Allies and the governments in exile, with the campaign so intense even the Gestapo had problem in controlling its spread in their beloved Fatherland and it brought a lethal end to the Brigade. Two weeks later Legiunea Arhanghelului Mihail members assaulted their headquarters, captured them and tortured them for hours, photographing and publishing the results.
The Soviet Union reacted quitely to it, even though the reason might have been the border conflict with Japan and the war with Finland, however it made the Vozhd of Russia realize Hitler was either stupid or insane.
Bulgaria decided, at least for the moment, to sit out of the war, seeing what was happening just on their borders.

PROTOCOL OVERLORD'S DOWNFALL

Wallace was hesitant to use the bomb for many weeks, he had hoped the Third Reich would have listened to reason just like the Italian Social Republic and Japan; the Luftwaffe was almost gone, Red Army troops were pouring over Northern Germany, the Low countries and Northern France, with the Wehrmacht on its last legs any other leader knew the war was over.

Hitler however kept fighting.

The 33th President of the United States authorized POD ("Protocol Overlord's Downfall"). The greenlight was something that he would later remark in his second term : "I will never be proud of that moment, never. I wish we had other options. I wish we didn't have to choose between half a million soldiers of our country and half a million enemy civilians".

Neue Wiedergeburt

Organization Der Ehemaligen Schutzstaffel Angehörigen (
ODESSA) was the famous, or infamous, secret protocol and program in which Himmler, Bormann and Reinhard Gehlen would relocate to an "amicable" country or, later revealed to be Peron's Argentina ("dictator" of Argentina from 1946 to 1973), Getulio Vargas-Cafe Filho's Brazil (Vargas first democratic turn 1950—1958, succeeded by Cafe Filho 1958-1966, Vargas second democratic government 1966-1970) and Marcos Evangelista Pérez Jiménez's Venezuela (1950-2001) and most Mediterranean countries, all of which desired top notch intelligence services and armies.
Himmler, unlike the Fuhrer Adolf Hitler, had understood the war was lost, otherwise he wouldn't had tried to set up a different peace with the Allies just a year before the Red Army had swarmed Norway and Denmark and swallow Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Die Spinne

Otto Skorzeny and Reinhard Gehlen also founded a brother organization, called The Spider, unbeknownst to Bormann and Himmler. The reason being that Die Spinne was suppose to be ODESSA back up plan, "a secret organization within a secret organization" would recall Skorzeny in his memoirs, while they served the same countries, they didn't trust Himmler and Bormann to keep quiet long enough or discreetly enough to never be caught, which revealed itself to be a partly right theory, considering Himmler was caught by Posadist insurgents and Bormann's death would in 1972 be revealed to the world public just a few weeks later he passed away.
Many hypothesised OSS operatives in disagreement with President Henry A. Wallace's refusal to recruit former Nazis aided both Die Spinne and ODESSA but it is yet to be confirmed. He is also reported to have worked for Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina and the Mediterranean countries post-war
If one is to believe, to Skorzeny, "Americans helped me escape", it is a fact

November 1944 to July 1945

Fall of Karafuto, Chishima rettō, Manchukuo, Korea and Vietnam's January Revolution

It might have seemed, at the time the deaths of Mao and Chiang's, the war was already won for Japan. Unfortunately, this was not the case. With the death of Mao the CCP was now participating more actively to the Chinese front and with Chiang's death the KMT had much better leadership, both political and militarly, with Sun Fo, son of the long deceased Sun Yat Sen, “leading the charge“ of an United China.
While the Soviet Union was busy starting to "liberate" Poland, Turkey and Norway (the first two much more defended and entrenched by the , the Japanese were loosing ground on all accounts to the Americans.
In November, the United States Army had landed in Korea and Manchukuo, in December they were planning to execute what could have been the largest invasion of the history of man, perhaps bigger than the Southern France landings, the mainland invasion of Japan.
Hiroito, pressed by his family, no longer had interest in continue fighting, unlike some generals or soldiers who were as fanatical as the Nazis.
The Emperor finally made a decision after even the Mongol United Autonomous Government had capitulated and Karafuto was being occupied by the Anglo-American forces.
While Churchill was busy arguing and convincing Henry A. Wallace to leave the former puppet states and colony of Japan as independent countries due to the KMT past friendly relations with the URSS, the Japanese Emperor was about to prepare his speech to his nation, to announce the war "had not proceeded in the favor of Japan".
In the end of January, UK-USA forces had landed in Japan, starting the eight years of occupation, meanwhile the last territory of French Indochina was liberating itself from the last remaining Franco-Japanese forces, being guided by the Viet Minh and first President Ho Chi Minh declaring the Provisional Democratic Republic of Vietnam, with both Malenkov and Wallace quick to recognize the young state, trying gain favor with the new order of the small Asian country.

The End Of Mussolini & The Italian Social Republic

Mussolini by April had seen the writing on the wall and was allegedly planning his escape, however Anglo-American forces had already engulfed Lubiana, Savoia, Nizza, Liguria and many other regions of the Bel Paese.
Kesselring was trapped as much as the Duce, sawing no way out, with Milan being cut off from the rest of the territories still under German and Italian Social control.
He ate lunch one last time, and accompanied by what little had remained of their forces, surrendered to the Brazilian Expeditionary Force, counting on a better treatment by Getulio Vargas troops.
Everyone surprised to see the former bombastic orator surrendering to the tropical country troops.
After the initial shock the Smoking Snakes gave the custody of the Duce to the Anglo-American forces, when Eisenhower questioned the BEF about Kesserling whereabouts, the reply was :

<< He is a ghost now >>

Of course, the USA wanted to investigate further, but by the time they had started, the war was over.
