A forty five year old Wisconsin Man named Ryan Borgwardt faked his own death via a 'kayaking accident', cashed out on a life insurance policy and fled the country to live with some Woman he met in Uzbekistan, leaving his Wife and children behind.

At the age of 62 now, George Field was convicted of murder and burglary after a 2018 beating of an 83 year old man in his apartment too death, reportedly using a hand cart/dolly and his own fists. Field was originally facing a misdemeanor battery charge but that was replaced by actual felony charges when his victim died ten days later.

George Field and the victim were reportedly neighbors with the assault being caused by an argument where George Field, then aged 55, demanded his neighbor give him water and cigarettes...

Field was sentenced to 8 years of prison for the burglary and 888 years for the murder charge. Lucky for him those sentences will be served concurrently.

Amouranth, the famous Twitch Streamer and Influencer, was the victim of an attempted robbery when three masked thugs broke into her home, assaulted her at gunpoint and attempted to use her to access her cryptocurrency account to steal it.

While accessing her phone, Amouranth was apparently able to tweet out she was being robbed. Her security cameras also took footage of her leading the robbers to another building in her home where as soon as she lured the three robbers inside, gunshots could be heard with one of the robbers reportedly shot either by her or more likely her husband and causing the three robbers to flee emptyhanded (except for at least one likely gunshot wound).

South Carolina double murderer Brad Sigmon was sentenced to the death penalty in 2002 after kidnapping his recent ex-girlfriend of three years after murdering her parents by beating them to death with a baseball bat. The girlfriend later successfully fled from him despite him shooting her in the attempt. He was high on crack cocaine and drunk reportedly during the crimes.

Brad Sigmon expressed a desire to commit suicide by cop after the murders but was unsuccessful. According to his family and others, was apologetic and remorseful about the crime. Brad chose firing squad over the alternatives of lethal injection and electrocution for fear those would be more drawn out and painful deaths.

The last death row inmate executed by firing squad was Ronnie Lee Gardner in 2010 who was convicted of murder while attempting to escape custody in a Courthouse. Utah banned death by firing squad in 2004 but it wasn't retroactively applied. Recently, due to concerns over the shortage of drugs used for lethal injection and other worries, multiple states have brought back firing squad as a means of execution of death row inmates including South Carolina in 2019. For a while Oklahoma was actually the only state to still have it. Now five states have it including Idaho and Utah who had banned it only years prior.
