How private is the notepad? Can the staff view stuff I write there? How (in)advisable it would be to use it for personal real life stuff?

Also, when subscription expires and not renewed, are all the notes gone, or do they remain but without an option to edit or add new ones? If they disappear, will they return if subscription is renewed?

It's very private. Admins could see what you write there via taking over your account but otherwise it is outside the purview of the staff or anyone else. As a general rule, putting personal real life stuff onto any service that you don't control is inadvisable but realistically, it it as least as safe as an SB PM with yourself.

When the subscription expires you lose access to the notepad and can't see your previous notes but when you renew your subscription they all return.
