Quebec votes for independence in 1995

What would have been the effects had Quebec voted for independence in 1995? Would it have gotten independence or would it have instead managed to negotiate a new power-sharing arrangement with Ottawa afterwards?

Quebec only extremely narrowly voted against independence in real life, so only a small flip here would achieve this goal:

And how would an independent Quebec look like if it actually comes to pass? In terms of both its domestic and foreign policies, I mean?

A lot of Canadas current problems are caused by forcing their culture to be multi cultural limiting their elites to people fluent in both French and English. While it would hurt in the short term Canada and Quebec would both be better off today if they had left

Having Meech Lake Accords actually passing would only piss off every single province in Canada, as Quebec isn't pleased with the whole Distinct Society caluse, and Western Canada would be even more furious about appeasing Quebec. Unfortunately, you would have to delay the 1995 referendum, which is the title of the thread, so I can't really add any more to it.

No canada would still be woke, because Canadian nationalism is weird but it wouldn't be as disfunctional as it currently is. Quebec I think though after the intitial high was gone would go in a much more conservative direction.

Canadian nationalism can be basically be summed up in three words: Peace, Order, and Good Governance

That's practically the de facto motto for Canada, as opposed to America's motto of Freedom, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness

Quebec's economy is deteriorating

It will take in Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia

The Australian Republic referendum in 1999 will end in victory for the Republic

Australia was declared a republic in 2000, followed by Jamaica in 2007, Tuvalu in 2008, St. Vincent and the Grenadines in 2009, and New Zealand in 2010.

It may strengthen support for the republic in Canada

So upon the death of Elizabeth II, only Charles III may inherit the throne of the United Kingdom
