Yeah. With malice someone can say "I meant to do that." With incompetence it just sorta happened because those responsible were some combination of asleep at the wheel, not paying attention, or simply just didn't care.
Or worse; they care a lot, but in their ignorance end up doing the equivalent of trying to douse a grease fire with a bucket of water.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions and an NFPA fire diamond you see on a semi trailor says "I wouldn't do that if I was you."

If you see 4-0-3 W OX that's probably Chlorine Trifluoride and the fires it starts can not be extinguished by any known method. Your special door prize for making a mistake with that is clouds of hot hydrofluoric acid.

Events over the coarse of the past month has not made me think "damn, we need some of that in our military" whenever I think about the ANA.

Most of them are Afghan commandos they are talking about, not rank and file.

They are trying to create the Afghan equiv of the Gurhkas.

It sounds like the Minnesota police are unhappy that they aren't going to be able to continue taking people's money as a form of supplemental income for the department.

Seems largely unrelated to ticketing/fines for traffic violations from either side.

Progressive socialist star Pramila Jayapal has numerous former staffers speaking out against her and her office practices.

Buzzfeed News said:
Despite the fact that Jayapal is one of the highest-profile progressives in DC and the chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, 14 former staffers from throughout her nearly five years in Congress describe a dysfunctional and volatile workplace. There is, they said, a serious disconnect between how she talks about workers’ rights and how she treats her own staff. The conversations with former staff members, all granted anonymity to speak candidly due to the insular nature of Capitol Hill and fears of retaliation, reveal an especially harsh office with a boss whose treatment of workers runs contrary to the public expectations she has set for others.

In interviews with BuzzFeed News, they described Jayapal as a boss who berated staff in front of others, demanded grueling hours, and maintained an office culture marked by constantly changing expectations and little tolerance for error, to the extent that some staffers sought therapy and questioned their careers in public service. Since taking office, Jayapal has had one of the highest staff turnover rates in the House, due in large part, former employees said, to the unrealistic standards she sets. “It's not sustainable to be able to stay for too long,” one said.

In response to the articles request for comment, a Rep Jayapal spokesperson had this to say:

“Women of color are often unjustly targeted, regularly held to higher standards than their male colleagues, and always put under a sexist microscope.”
