Okay actually it'll be called Passion of the Christ: Resurrection and yes, it is a sequel to Mel Gibsons hit film Passion of the Christ which came out back in 2004.

Looks like they're copying other movies like Avatar 2 and The Rise of Skywalker and just just bringing back main characters even though he clearly died at the end. Hope they have a good explanation for it.

Still no details on the movie beyond the announcement of a 2024 release. Please spoiler any plot details.

Apparently Jim Caviezel will be reprising his role despite rumors that Henry Cavill, Harry Styles, Simu Liu or Idris Elba were available.

Hopefully this film will reverse the downward trend in quality and popularity of fantasy historical epics in the Box Office.
