EU Nobody expects the Spanish Volcano Bombing

Nothing would happen. The best they could attempt to do would be to carve some kind of a path for the lava to follow, but bombing the volcano would do fuck-all.

True and there would definetly be a lot of good video from it. Heh, only issue might be its La Palma. Bit of a (possible) conspiracy theory that with the island having a couple faultless and substsntial portions of it being sediment that the eruption of resulting queries could have caused substantial tsunamis.

Well 40 days of lava didn't do it so I figure bomb strikes won't do much. Maybe just don't bomb out a gorge for the lava ALONG one of the faultless and that should be fine. Because really that would just be messing around with people.

So La Palmas been spewing lava for a month now and apparently some politician got the idea to carpet bomb it. Thoughts? Personally I'd like them to do it just to see what happens.
This was actually done by the US Army to save a city in Hawaii. Basically, what had happened was it was a shield volcano, so lava was pouring out rather than a cone erupting skyward. The lava was pouring towards a city, but usually the lava hardens, so it doesn't flow too hard. But this time, only the surface of the lava would harden, which basically gave insulation to the lava beneath, allowing it to keep flowing. So they bombed the surface, destroying the insulating top allowing the bottom lava to harden.

EDIT: Oh, they talk more about it in the article!

Yep, mentioned in the article. Does say there is debate on whether it worked or the volcano was slowing down anyway.

Either way Bombers dropping missiles on volcanos. What's not to love?

The pricetag if you're a taxpayer who'll have to foot part of the bill.
Eh, given that the taxpayer could likely end up footing the bill of relief efforts which also cost a ton, and also given that the bombs nor bomber need be expensive ones, if it works it's probably cost effective.
