IF he had gone into the ocean that might have worked a lake not so much.

And this is being mentioned on the prosecutor's court filings for why this guy should be denied bail. Can you imagine the look on the defense attorney's face when he finds out what his client did?

"The defendant should be denied bail because he tried to pull a Bond Villain Escape just this morning, your Honor."

"...I got nothing."

Ngl... Doesn't sound like that great a way to cook chicken... Despite its novelty. Maybe they were going to do it sous vide style though and found just the right temperature hot spring. 😋
Don't tell me for ONE SECOND you didn't want to parse this as "Idaho man falls into hot water after cooking two chickens in Yellowstone."

I think this article speaks for itself. 2021 is going to be JUST AS EXCITING as 2020 at this rate![/hr]

I would point out that this is not necessarily absurd; proposals to restore the Colosseum to a working venue of some form go back hundreds of years, with the Catholic Church itself planning several plans to do so in the 16th and 17th centuries.

The article cited is simplifying things -- as originally built, the floor of the Colosseum was simply levelled ground. This original floor was eliminated by the Emperor Domitian's later directive to build the hypogeum subterranean network under it to provide access infrastructure for scenery pieces, gladiators, and animals. The floor that the Colosseum had for most of its working history was therefore wooden paneling over the hypogeum tunnels covered by sand.

The proposal of a retractable floor is a good idea, but it's *mostly* about protecting the exposed hypogeum from further environmental damage while still being able to see it. The idea of hosting concerts and theater productions is largely fanciful, as they would also have to repair significant portions of the entrances and seating in order to do so.

They weren't planning on having bloodsports there, but more like concerts and theater.

That'd be pretty awesome. That's not what comes to mind when 'fully restored and operational' is said about one of the bloodiest specific locations in history.

The Collosseum is a very impressive structure, both in general and especially for its time. That doesn't change the fact that it was used for horrific purposes for centuries.

Also, what would even be that interesting about a restored collosseum? Isn't the point its history? Like as far as modern domes go the building is kinda tiny. Its not like people like modern sports arenas much apart from sports fans. Isn't that kinda like asking who would like the Venus De Milo with robot hands? Well given the proposals for Notre Dame I guess thats keeping to form. Ah well, no stake in it myself so Rome do Rome I guess.
