* not a party per se, but a popular, somewhat derogatory umbrella term for small, usually irrelevant parties.
Irrelevant? Surely not!

Lithuania signs a $495 million dollar deal with the United States to purchase eight HIMARS MLRS Systems. The deal includes munitions, training, maintenence etc as well a number of the long ranged ATACMS guided munitions that get so much press recently.

With ATACMS capability its reported the loathsome Lithuanians will be able to strike at @ATP's home from anywhere within the small Baltic country.

A total creep
As I live 40km from ATP I'll get the shovel and start digging a foxhole ... once the thaw sets in tomorrow, that is :p

In other amusing news - a high ranking Polish Police Officer visting Ukraine was gifted with a captured Russian grenade lanucher. He did not report it at the border, he did not have it inspected by Qualified Personel, and blew up his office :)
First link in English I found:

Yes,they could,but...why? polish goverments,no matter who is ruling, always do what Lithuania want,do not caring about polish minority there.
Which Lithuania keep prosecuting.

Which always baffled me - i could undarstand, why we serve USA,or even Izrael. But serving Lithuania???? WHY????

Where?

You shouldn't serve Israel with its excessive amounts of Jewish chauvinism. But serve USA Yes! Poland Stronk if American ally!

Till USA gave us to Moscov for nothing again. We should, just in case, have agreement with China. They stopped soviet invasion in 1956 once, and now stopped soviets from using nukes on Ukraine.

Details on the first batch of 116 Abrams that Poland will be receiving from America. Former USMC M1A1 FEP variants with second generation thermal sights, integrated with GPS which can generate GPS locations of lased targets, as well as electronic diagnostics system and other bits and bobs like an SCWS (Stabilized Commanders Weapons Station), a drivers thermal viewer and the Abrams Integrated Display and Targeting System or AIDATS, a color display to improve situational awareness.

Still not enough to cover lost of more then 240 tanks we send to Ukraine.

Don't forget about the parallel pre-war contract for M1A2's, and the Korean one.
Definitely enough to cover for reserve T-72Ms twice over.

As you can see, some are absolutely delivered, and these are tanks equal or better than our most modernized Leopard 2's, in exchange for reserve T-72's with minimal upgrades.

Also with the second purchase we are finally getting depleted uranium ammo for 120's.

Which would still not save us,if Moscov really had 2th army of the world.

United States is planning to increase artillery production six fold within two years to 90,000 155mm shells a month. According to random internet commentators, this would be the highest rate of production of artillery shells since the Korean War? 🤷‍♀️

Prior to the Russian Invasion of Ukraine, the production rate of ammunition was 14,000 155mm shells a month.

Maybe this doesn't belong in the NATO Military News Thread because Sweden is like... ya know... :sneaky:

But I'll post it here anyways. :p

The Swedes contracted BAE Systems for an additional 20 CV90 based 120mm Self Propelled Mortar Systems with the production taking place at BAE Factories in Sweden itself. This'll mean by 2025 if the contract is fulfilled on time that Sweden will have 80 Granat... Granatkas... *takes a deep breath* GRANAKASTARPANSARBANDVAGN 90s!!!! mortar carriers in service. The contract is worth $30 million dollars.

Italy meanwhile is acquiring Hero-30 Loitering Munitions for use by its Special Forces.

Defense News said:
In September, German company Rheinmetall and its Israeli-based partner UVision announced in a news release they received their first order from a European NATO special forces formation for the supply of Hero-30 loitering combat and training munitions, training courses, and integrated logistics equipment and support.
...
While the precise number of weapons on order remains classified, the value of the contract is €3.88 million (U.S. $4.21 million). Deliveries are expected this year. The notice lists the winner of the contract as RWM Italia S.p.A based in Ghedi, northern Italy. In 2021, UVision signed a strategic agreement with the Italian entity for the licensed production and development of Hero-type loitering munitions. The partnership has RWM Italia acting as prime contractor for the European market, supplying and manufacturing some ammunition components, assembling systems, and managing logistical support.
