A channel I discovered yesterday called Odd Compass makes videos focused on Asian history as well as Asian history as it interacts with the West. It looks to be fairly good quality videos on a fairly diverse array of subjects. I've seen this video below of how the Portuguese managed to takeover the Malacca Sultanate in 1511, as well as a video on the infamous English pirate Henry Every managed to hijack two ships of the Mughal Treasure Fleet and seize the equivalent of $120 million in gold and a few others such as the conquests of the Chola people of South India a millenia ago.

He only emerged last year it seems and has about fourteen videos so far but they've been worth a watch IMHO.

After eight months of no activity BazBattles is back to making videos again... or at least one video so far and it's just as good as his previous workis.

So I'm been reluctant on sharing these, but there's a Star Wars YouTuber who makes nice 10-15 minute videos on random military topics. He actually has two different channels. The videos I feel aren't very in depth or perhaps not as studious as some of the other channels, but it is great pop history and often on things that your filthy casuals (like me) often learn about.

A lot of their content is focused on World War Two but it's far from the only historical event/era. Here's a neat video from The Front on the PEFTOK (Filipino Expeditionary Force) that served in the Korean War.

And from The Braved (which is more focused on individuals throughout history) profiling a certain Russian Lass, Nadezha Durova, who served in disguise in the Russian military during the Napoleonic War.

Never got around to this but another channel worth recommending in my opinion is Sandrhoman History.

They cover a broad range of mostly military history topics but they really focus on 16th through 18th century military warfare in Europe which is sexy af. He covers topics like Roman and Medieval Warfare most notably as well but he's done deep dives into things like the 1683 Siege of Vienna by the Ottoman Turks or the Battle of Lutzen in 1632 which was part of the Thirty Years War.

Here's one of his most popular videos:

Lot of History Youtubers are making videos in reference to the Special Military Operation going on in Ukraine.

Cody from Alternate History Hub has finally dropped the video he's been working on for a while. Originally it was to be an actual Alternate History about Russia Joining NATO but instead he just decided to do a quick (and amusing) overview of NATO's Expansion and Russia's Feeling of Isolation and How it may or may not of contributed to the current crisis.

TimeGhost History, the same guys behind the World War Two Channel (and behind The Great War channel as well) decided to re-release some of their older videos concerning Ukrainian History with added contextual bits relating and pertaining to the current Russian Invasion of Ukraine. They did one on the Holdomor and one here about the Holocaust in Ukraine.

(this is the censored version because the original version which is still up is apparently too triggering and on age restriction)

Mark Felton released a random video about the Ukrainian SS and going into their back history including where they were recruited from and then covered a little known mutiny a Ukrainian SS Unit got up to in 1944 France during World War Two.

And Simple History somehow managed to release a full HISTORY VIDEO on the RUSSIAN INVASION OF THE UKRAINE already!!!

Granted it's the one from 1917 but still...

Even that guy Johnny Johnson who does short video essays on historical weapons in movies decided to cover the M72 LAW and it's latest debut in the Ukraine Conflict!

Pew. Pew.

About a half dozen YouTubers are going to start a livestream to talk about what's behind (or their thoughts anyways) the Russian Invasion of Ukraine in about half an hour.

Includes AlternateHistoryHub, Tigerstar, the Cynical Historian and other dudes.

More Ukraine focused history content being released on the YouTubes. A nice video on the vehicle markings from Battle Order.

Binkov did a nice analysis video of the Ukrainian military back in March 2nd.

Grim Reapers, an amusing flight simulator channel that uses Digital Combat Simulator World, released a pair of videos exploring airplanes versus Air Defense systems.

This one shows Su-25's versus Pac-2 Systems... and later Stinger MANPADs.

And this one showing if various aircraft can penetrate a dense network of Russian IADS.

And finally a completely accurate recreation of a recent Battle between Ukrainian and Russian forces over an Airport.

Timeghost History did a video on the history of Ukrainian Nationalism to counter Putin's allegations that Ukraine had no tradition of such.

Alternate History Hub released another video, this one actual Alternate History, regarding the Soviet Union and Russian Federation joining NATO respectively. Only the second video is really interesting.

Binkov's Battlegrounds released a video on Ukraine's BTR-4 and compared it to Russia's BTR-80 and the US Stryker.

The Chieftain hazarding on drawing strong conclusions from currently released Ukrainian media.

A C:MANO Lets Play of NATO and Russia having a limited conflict over the Ukraine, played a month before the actual invasion. Very timely.

More Ukraine War related content.

Military History (not) Visualized did a video on what the new hundred billion Euro reassessment and rearmament process, putting it in historical context and how quickly (or not) and how dramatic or not the changes could come even with the pledged amounts of money.

Lazerpig did a series of videos on the Russian-Ukrainian War despite his misgivings of doing videos on an ongoing conflict and comes from a very heavily skeptical view of Russian military capabilities before and rants a good long time about it in entertaining fashion.

Simple History did a nice short video on the origins, specifications, rediscovered purpose and overall history of the much beloved An-225 that was destroyed in the opening hours of the Russian Invasion. RIP.

The Serbian Tank YouTuber Red Effect did a video on Soviet era Active Protection Systems and touched a fair bit on their potential and use today, including in the current War.

Also a YouTuber named Ryan McBeth has released over twenty single minute long videos briefly but in still impressive detail answering all sorts of questions ranging from why Russia hasn't achieved Air dominance, to how HEAT rounds work, and if Molotov Cocktails can threaten a tank etc. His background is apparently twenty years as an ATGM operator and serving as an Aggressor in training exercises at places like Fort Irwin.

Red Effect recently did a short video on Ukraines Stugna and Skif ATGM's and their history and develop and benefits etc. Apparently it's a very good System.

Military History Visualized also did a video on how effective Molotov Cocktails are against military vehicles... Which is not very.

And a while back Operations Room did a nice video on just how violent these so-called No Fly Zones are and used the Southern Watch No Fly Zone in Iraq during the 90's as an example.

And Invicta did a cool and neat video on Queen Olga, the Shield of Kyiv!

Apparently Operations Room will be tackling the Battle of the Bulge And Battle of Iwo Jima in the bear future.

Twelve Episodes in Eleven Weeks. The trailer alone was worth the Price of Admission. Especially the final minute with all the military map porn I love so much!

The aforementioned Operations Room YouTube Channel just created a spinoff channel called 'The Intel Report' which will apparently add more context to the concurrent releases of Operations Room videos.

For example they just released a video on the US Island Hopping Campaign in the Central and Southwest Pacific to help set the stage for why the United States was preparing to invade Iwo Jima as well as show the evolution of tactics along with the lessons learned and applied by both sides for the upcoming Iwo Jima Campaign.

Basically less animated battle maps and a broader treatment of the subjects as opposed to Operations Room which focusing on one singular Battle or Operation specifically.
