MiG-31's In The Arctic

Just a neat random article I found about Russian MiG-31's stationed in Novaya Zemlya, a Russian Island in the Arctic Ocean (and a setting for military themed video game levels IIRC).

No doubt these MiG's are being prepared for the day Russia will make war on Canada and seize control of the Arctic, the Northwest Passage and all of the juicy hydrocarbons and whale oil that lies beneath the ice.

They are also refurbishing other, previously abandoned, soviet airbases on more northern islands, but don't plan to base combat units there yet, for now they are meant for resupply and search&rescue.

Also, I didn't know their jet pilots also used special north sea suits.
