Turkey had another "oopsie" in their campaign against Kurdish militants, this time striking a UN related school and killing four teenaged girls and injuring a dozen others playing volleyball there.

“There’s no evacuation going on at the embassy and no indication that’s going to be required at this time,” Kirby told reporters, according to The Hill. One senior official also told Fox News, “If we were conducting an evacuation, I would not be on the phone with you right now. Don’t know where those reports are coming from. There’s no change to our status at the Embassy.”
As expected, it's about Sunni-Shia political bullshit.

Ok, how much farther are we going to let Iran go before Preying Mantis 2.0?

Oh... The Iranian Tow was released.

I was thinking the US Navy was putting TOW Missiles on their Cyclone-class Patrol Ships for 'Dakka' reasons for a brief second there.

Assassinated by Mossad or Iranian cliques within infighting?

Well Israel wouldn't mind Iran to be completely neutered as a menace in a civil war like Syria and they have ability to do it multiple times until Iran get the nukes.
On the other hand the IRGC hasn't been popular (if it ever was) since at least the end of the Iran-Iraq war.

The IRGC was steadily expanding their political and economic footprint in Iran over the years, to the point of strangling competition, the civilian government couldn't do anything about it, and their higher ups aka Ayatollahs didn't feel like cracking down on it.
A giant, militant, well connected organization running a significant chunk of the economy and at the same time engaging in huge amounts of shady activities overboard with their higher up's blessing? What could go wrong?
The author has used an analysis of the Iranian economy based on the available value of each economic sector and an estimated share of each of the three sectors to gauge an estimated share of each of the three groups. Based on these calculations, the public sector contributes 35% to the Iranian GDP, the private sector about 25% and the semi-state sector approximately 40%. As mentioned, the semi-state sector includes a host of religious and revolutionary foundations, social security and pension funds as well as military organizations. The IRGC network is the largest component of the military entities, which also include the social security and pension fund of the armed forces and is known as the SATA. Therefore, in terms of share of the GDP, the estimated share of the network around the IRGC is about 15%, with a growing trend.

Plenty can. It'll face similar challenges as any other bloated military organisation sucking up the budget.

Lol... Those are pale shadow of IRGC even in their dreams. Imagine if NSA, CIA and FBI were one organization, subject only to the leader of DNC, were officially exempt from any but most ridiculous violations of the law, and owned companies totaling up to 15% of US GDP, with total freedom as to what to do with them. Oh and they also have their own navy, air force and special forces, separate from the national ones, which they are free to use internally or externally with no need for any decision or permission from the "normal" government, just as long as DNC leadership says so.

Plenty can. It'll face similar challenges as any other bloated military organisation sucking up the budget.
Then you didn't pay attention. They aren't just some bloated military organization. They ARE THE BUDGET. At least a nice chunk of it. 15% of whole country's GDP. They own companies, funds, control banks, just in addition to their clandestine activities, which include profitable smuggling routes...
If they scaled down activities they could self-fund easily.

I don't need to it's obvious when it's foundation was founded on the ideals of the Iranian revolution requiring willing volunteers for the job and the rest will follow because it's financially beneficial.

Turkey is apparently launching one of its biggest operations yet into Syria (and Northern Iraq) dubbed 'Operation Claw-Sword.'

So far it's been a large scale air campaign against alleged PKK/YPG targets in Syria and Iraq.
