About 900 troops including a considerable number of Green Berets will remain stationed in Syria, largely in support and advising of the Syrian Democratic Forces in the ongoing fight against the Islamic State.

And a Muslim Brotherhood dominated government in Tunisia is crumbling apart. Good news for many Tunisians it seems.

But sad news for US Muslim-American Representatives Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, the Council of Islamic-American Relations as well as the governments of Qatar and Erdogan's Turkey.

The actual reason is to prevent the government to recapture the oil producing region. Same on Jordanian/Iraq border, where they protecting couple of dozen rebels who hold Al Tanf border crossing.

Russian aircraft helping fight Turkish wildfires. Keep in mind these are being leased with hired crews in most cases.

So couple of rockets were fired from Lebanon into Israel, so Israel is reminding Hesbollah why doing that is a bad idea, via artillery and air strikes. Totally unrelated, Lebanon is in a meltdown mode, due to decades of corruption sending economy in a freefall.

Seems like an inversion of the popular stereotype... Iraq suspending air travel to Belarus to curb human trafficking.

Kurdistan 24 said:
He noted that Iraqi laws guarantee freedom of travel, but said human trafficking and expanding smuggling networks post danger to Iraqis.

On Wednesday, the leaders of Estonia and Lithuania asked Baghdad to help stem the tide of the smuggling of Iraqis into Europe through Belarus, which they accuse of intentionally stoking migrant crises in EU member states.

Iraq’s Deputy Parliament Speaker Bashir Haddad said on Thursday that the government will repatriate Iraqis who are now stranded in Lithuania.

But yes, it's related to the ongoing migrant crisis apparently.

If the Libyans shoot anymore of these down maybe they can build their own out of the scrap left over... I think its almost fifty of these drones shot down and in exchange they've taken out like a dozen Air Defense systems maybe since 2019.

Pakistani intelligence has determined that the suicide bombing of a bus last month that killed thirteen people including nine Chinese workers was done by an Islamist organization, but one backed by the Afghan and Indian government. ;)

The Pakistani government has also stated that the Tehrik-e-Taliban or TTP (Pakistan Taliban) was responsible for the attacks though the TTP denies responsibility. The TTP is known for having links with Al Qaeda, the Islamic State and a bit of a rivalry with the Afghan Taliban.

Pakistani intelligence originally attributed the blast to a mechanical defect in the vehicle but later stated it was the result of terrorism.

Can't blame your groups and rat them out to your allies. Blame the enemy

Burkina Faso is more West Africa then North Africa I suppose when talking about the MENA (Middle East, North Africa) region but I'll put this here anyhow because when do we hear about Burkina Faso really?

Plus forty seven dead is quite the tally in a single attack in an area where such things don't get much widespread media attention. Suspected Islamic Extremists ambushed a convoy in northern Burkina Faso killing at least thirty civilians along with seventeen soldiers/volunteer defense fighters according to the government.

It's unclear but the militants are suspected to be linked to either Al Qaida (in the Islamic Maghreb) and/or the local Islamic State terrorist group. The country has been suffering from ongoing Islamic inspired terrorism since 2015 (prior to then there was no recorded terrorist incidents) and as of currently, hundreds if not thousands have been killed by terrorists or government counter-terrorism campaigns and over a million people displaced.

Middle East seems to be heating up.
What's next, Iran invades Iraq?

Heating up? Attacks from Gaza are a regular thing, this one just got attention because they managed to wound a border guard. Also, why would Iran invade its vassal?
