Just saw this murder on the tracks documentary, and damn the Clinton bodycount seems to go way back. There was a certain governer of Arkansas involved in the coverup and nothing investigated, dozen or more people suicided to stop their testifying.
You know, I really think the USA law system could do with some kind of law that states if the witnesses fail to show up, the defendant is actomatically assumed guilty and sentenced to the maximum punishment possible. It might just fix the suicide rate among anti-Clinton witnesses.

That ends with cops purposely delaying their own witnesses. Bad idea.

It's a work in process. Protecting witnesses from comitting suicide via tying up their hands, getting shot in the back fifteen times, and hanging themselves from a tree post-mortal is important because otherwise the powerful will continue to get away with their crimes.
... Yeah, the cops are going to do this to their own witnesses (especially criminal informants, for example) more than rich people.

We have witness protection, an exception for hearsay from the dead, and a number of other protections. The proposals you submit go way too far in the opposite direction. The cure is worse than the disease here.

This isn't just a problem unique to your proposal, but with every law. Every law will be abused, and is ultimately a trade-off between the benefits of the law versus the abuses, loopholes, and unintended consequences of the law. The first place to look for how a law will be abused is the government.

Knee jerk reaction laws are especially prone to being worse than the problem they fix.

I understand the pathos behind this, but what we need isn't some radical, horribly abusable laws to deal with the problem.

We need a few prosecutors, judges, and LE officers with some basic damn sense who are willing to look into the obvious motivations behind things like this.

Not to mention a willingness to risk their lives and livelihoods in going against the establishment.

Well, to be honest, while one can argue that a fetus is not a person, the body part argument never really made much sense to me. Does that mean that a woman who is pregnant with a male fetus (and thus has male sex organs within her body as a result of her male fetus being there) is a hermaphrodite?

History channel stopped showing history for a while now.

That’s the distinct impression I’ve gotten, yes. Maybe it’s because I haven’t been paying attention, but I wonder what prompted them to phase out history for wacky sensationalism and laughable conspiracy theories?

Reality TV shows.

They are dirt cheap to make and require very little investment for a potentially huge return.

There was a point the history channel just stopped doing anything historical like documentaries and just ran Reality TV shows constantly. Like pawn stars and such.

It really is a shame. A lot of their programming from the 90's and 2000's, actually the last time I remotely regularly watched TV now that I think about it, was really interesting.
