Glowing as in a left wing ''activist'', anyone who has been around the rightwing sites on the internet has seen the tactics used by the left to paralyze,disrupt, and shill rightwing spaces for their pathetic ''culture war''. Maybe i'm mistaken but what you said was the left wing equivalent of some one identifying themselves as an attack copter on Tumblr.
Perhaps i'm wrong or mistaken and if so i apologize, however i have spent the last decade reading the words and listening to the beliefs and opinions of the regressive left. As a consequence the particular word choices and tactics stand out to me immediately because of this experience. I will give the benefit of the doubt this instance as mistakes do happen.

In fairness, it's an op-ed piece (from an Irish-American? 'Carroll' doesn't seem stereotypically Irish as a surname. but he writes as if he is...Not that 'Irish-American' hasn't kind of been extended in the US to everyone whose ancestors even saw someone come off boats from Ireland or lived an appropriately-long amount of time in Boston) and the Examiner just ran with the most colorful and dramatic line in their preview/ad, probably to drive-up clicks both from the 'What?' and the 'What!' reactions.
Which, of course, still makes it rather cringeworthy.
