In Poland leftist newspapers, like Gazeta Wyborcza and german owned titles,do the same.
It's standard operative procedure for every newspaper in record.
Sounds like they should be forced to put their retraction on the Frontpage, in Bold and Capital Letters, in the top half of the page, and page 2 and 3 should serve ad an explanation what they got wrong.

I'd like to see a lawyer calcualte the damages based on the value of what it would take to buy the articles in question based on placement (front page vs back page)

I seriously think that a law requiring retractions and corrections be given the same article placement, size, image and wordcount are a good idea. Whether it should be an automatic requirement, or require that people sue to get it, or that people will be able to sue if the correction isn't run in the same size and scale, that's a matter for argument.

But we are at the point now where the mainstream media basically exists purely to lie and deceive, and they pay very little price for it.

The way the legal system works, you need to have an investigator pose as a customer and get the costs of the placement and size of the content. The courts can only acknowledge what you can prove exists.

in the past I might not have agreed with you...but now?

There is no denying that the mainstream media is outright fake news.

They regularly spread outright lies.

Major news corps are as big of fake news as any fake news site that ever existed. They push propaganda and lies.

San Francisco Chronicle reporters have an issue with a Snow White attraction at Disneyland over a nonconsenual kiss... Because of course they do.

Hmm I seen to recall the snow white complaints starting a few years back. Maybe I imagined it.

Looks like it's gaining traction

Obviously she can never consent and so should just be left to be cursed forever. Time for a remake!

Greg Gutfelds Primetime show on Fox News has beaten both ABC's Jimmy Kimmel snd NBC's Jimmy Fallon in ratings last April though still trailing courageous #Resistance leader Stephen Colbert.

He also crushed his Cable News "Comedy" competition from The Daily Show and it's various alumni even in the 25-54 demographic.

From its April 5 launch through April 27, Nielsen Media Research showed Gutfeld had drawn an average viewership of 1.791 million total viewers, which edged out ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! (1.779 million) and NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (1.696 million) while trailing the Resistance paradise of CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (2.448 million).

Better yet, Gutfeld! comfortably defeated Comedy Central’s Daily Show, CBS’s Late Late Show, NBC’s Late Night and Little Late, HBO’s Last Week Tonight and Real Time, and TBS’s Conan and Full Frontal in total viewers in total viewers and in the 25-54 demo (with the exception of HBO’s two entries).

That's nice, but remember; Fox News still rejects the idea that the election was fraudulent. These people are not our allies, they're just trying to sell a product.

Jake Tapper, whose like the least shitty of the shills on CNN, has decided to generate his own news story by stating he's pondering banning some Republicans from his undoubtedly extremely popular show. Of course... he's never really invited many Republicans on in the first place as of late but... I guess "floating" the idea of something he's already de facto doing is newsworthy.

Its fishing for a headline. Unless you're Tucker Carlson tier the cable business has been rough lately and he needs to pay his pool boy same as all the other talking heads.

That is because the News agencies have forgotten their original purpose. To keep the public informed about local, national, and world events. They have given up telling us the information we need for sensational headlines. They no longer report the news, instead they sell sensational articles while spewing propaganda for the Establishment.

"We have always been at war with East Asia and Eurasia is our long time ally."

Libs Stop making Trump sound cooler and more intimidating than he really is challenge (impossible):
They're saying the quiet part aloud there. It's a bit of a taboo to mention how the same ruling families keep passing down political officers to their kids generation after generation like they're some kind of American Nobility.

I was going to ask. What's bad about dismantling the Old Families? I bluntly put would prefer if there were no more Trumps in politics twenty years from now.

And I'd give a limb if the Kennedy's disappeared entirely.

Nothing wrong with it, just, as I said, they put a lot of effort into pretending the same families aren't sending their kids into politics to maintain family control.
