I have no clue who the Eternals even are supposed to be in the comics, and I'm a pretty good Marvel afficionado.
They limda disappeared in recent years and got wiped out because of the celestials.

In the new avengers run

IMO the MCU practically ended with Endgame. What could top it? This is the fundamental problem with trying to adapt a soap-opera type medium to a linear beginning-middle-and-end type of plot structure.

The great story of the Avengers against Thanos that was the core of the MCU is over. What's left?

they are trying to make the marvel universe like Star wars. It's not just a single story but a world with it's own lore. They are trying to expand in scope. Whether it will work or not, only time will tell.

The Marvel universe has been like that in comics already.
They just wanna do it with the movies

Op Ed arguing the X-Men Movies should take place in a separate Cinematic Universe from the MCU.

This is actually something I agree with. Muddying the waters with Mutants and Mutant Rights in a world where metahumans are already commonplace would cause really awkward story and narrative problems.

Furthermore the MCU wouldn't be "reset" at this point to accomodate the X-Men stories so what were the Mutants doing this entire time? Is Mutantness a new thing? Or will this be the Eternals problem only writ far larger. Where were they the entire time in the MCU up to this point?

And to some degree... there is also a tone different, with the FoX-Men movies and the MCU in general.

Well, just saw the 2nd episode of Loki...I am not sure how to articulate how I feel about what they did here, given the modern social context and wider culture war.

I can admit I didn't see it coming, but that's because I thought Disney would be more original than going for the sex-swap plot line for the 'shocking reveal' about the other Loki.

Then again, in actual Norse mythology Loki was known to do that sort of shit, and...other things.

In comics he became a kid at one point.
He has done fucked up things in comic as well

Another Shang Chi trailer dropped... this one is more story based I suppose with a narration and everything.

Apparently the 'Ten Rings' are an actual magical artifact... or artifacts rather as opposed to a metaphor for something as intimated in the early IronMan movies but also seem a lot larger then The Mandarin's Ten Rings of Power like in the Comics.

It looks cool, way cooler then the first trailer made the film out to be and showing a lot of the action and how the story will apparently be related to the very Asian-American issue regarding their perpetually disappointing Fathers. :p

First reviews for Black Widow are coming in. It's considered fresh by the critics. Most state the film came way too late which hurts the tension but it plays as a great action or spy thriller more then a Superhero film and the ensemble cast interacting with each other and the like was also a strong point in the film.

Most professional critics are paid advertisement these days, so there's really no point in listening to what they have to say. In any even, Midnight's Edge has put out a video on the film, and it seems like the franchise is doubling down on the whole woke female supremacy angle going forward.

I never got that from the movie though.
It is inline with what the Red Room was in the comics.

Regardless of how well it came across to you, the intent seems rather clear; going by what the people who made the film have said.
I literally don't see how they got that point.

It is a movie about a highly trained killer woman. That has somewhat of a family value in it.

I never got a feminist view of it. Unless any movie with a female lead is that now

I guess from what I heard it's mainly coming from how the Rachel Weiz character gets to be a horrible person and isn't even so much as called out on it, and how every man is either evil or an incompetent buffoon.

Here's the Drinker's take on it:

She is called out 100 percent.
And it is a movie whose focus is about a female super spy going after the Red Room.
It is just like the comics

Yeah, well; I don't see how you got to the point where you can see the Star Wars sequels or RWBY as being legitimately good works of fiction. I just accept that you and I are usually going to have different perspectives when it comes to these things.

I can see why for both of those, but this one literally has NOTHING that they were saying, and seems to be another one of those "Strong female = BAD!" Stuff
