i hope,that somebody ask that deputy who ordered him to do so.And if he refuse,send him to normal prison,and tell prisoners that dude is policeman.

I wonder if this was perhaps silencing a potential witness.
Very curious to see the bodycam of that stop
 
No, outside of the Federal government's jurisdiction.

Also, its 2025. we got the tech already.
It should be a constitutional amendment, or at least federal law, that bodycam footage must be:
1. streamed at all times.
2. open the public at all times.
3. a federal crime with prison time to turn off your bodycam while on duty.
 
Except that is overstepping the boundaries set forth.
Sheriff's and the governor set states rules and mayor and councils set cities.
Simple as.
The federal government has no control over local PDs especially Sheriff's
