I love his channel as well. His Fermi Paradox/Alien Intelligence episodes are my favorite. Or the future of Humanity durring various eras of the universe like that ongoing series he has with that one colony ship.

Don't know if this counts as necroposting (feel free to call me out if it is), but here's the latest vid done (really great material) by Isacc Arthur. And this time it's about the potential friendly critters that call the cosmos home. Glad to know this is a thing, to be honest.

I’m a bit disappointed he didn’t reference Voyager when speaking of time cops.

He steers clear of making political statements or judgements. Refusing to comment on the very relevant socialist vs capitalist debate(the sort of society of the future will determine its mega projects).

And he is a bit too optimistic sometimes, neglecting to acknowledge that what he proposes requires a humanity that is much more reasonable than it is.

That’s fine of course, and optimism is always a good antidote to doom and gloom. But that is a bit of a blind spot.

Isaac himself though has admitted that his videos only work on certain premises. Things like there won’t be a massive asteroid strike that kills us all next Tuesday, or that we discover we have vastly misunderstood the laws of physics, and so on.

I forget where he talked about this though.

This isn't a new video but i still find it interesting

Also would anyone actually live in the hypothetical underwater city in the video? i probably would for a few months.

That is something IIRC he mentioned.

The motivation to live in an underwater city.

I'd probably consider it just for the coolness factor.
