More or less. Most of it is either doing shit that is basically the same gig as male peacocks (i.e. what is essentially dick-waving contests) or staying away from anyone not them, never to the workers (and before you say it goes to the workers indirectly, that hasn't been the case since the '70s when the first industrial robots started to hit the market). Remember, the rich have always tried to skimp on their tax responsibilities, and at times it got bad enough that outright branding and torture were considered acceptable means to make sure that the rich paid their dues (Justinian the Great of the Eastern Roman Empire did just that because the tax situation in ERE was that bad, as the rich wouldn't pay and the poor didn't have the money).

I'm not kidding that many of these people would choose killing puppies and kittens if it meant netting a few more bucks.

You are right.And that is why oligarchs supporst socializm - it would not really tax them,but destroy middle class which economically was competitive with them.Of course,if socializm turn into communism they would die - but it is risk which they take to robb other people of their freedom.

That's number is based on tax receipts received by the IRS. So, yes, it's correct.

By the time WWI rolled around the British were asking to borrow the Kongo's to reinforce the Grand Fleet. When WWII rolled around it took two American fast battleships (South Dakota and Washington) to stop a Kongo (Kirishima) in a night battle.
