Child support laws are a lower priority for conservatives for several reasons:

1. We're less likely to be affected by them, as we're less likely to have children out of wedlock, and less likely to divorce.
2. We fundamentally believe a man is responsible for supporting his children, so the basic concept is seen as sound.
3. We're more likely to have the financial wherewithal to fulfill obligations.

None of these mean that the laws aren't a bloody mess, nor that they shouldn't be reformed, just that the problem is less frequently personally experienced by conservatives, and even when it is, how bad it is often is not seen.

That makes sense. Conservative women are also presumably less likely to personally choose abortion, so there is less of an element of unfairness in that direction as well. As in, conservative men know what they're getting, as opposed to liberal men being promised abortion or adoption and then sometimes having the woman back out afterwards.

New yorkers for decades gleefully enabled havok and chaos to happen in Texas and to its people now they get to deal with the conqeuences.

Anon New Yorker reaction to illegal migrants dumped at them from Texas.
Oh no, they were dropped off randomly on your front lawn with no warning or organization? I wonder what that feels like. Fuck off you bougie twit, this issue is decades old and the best we've gotten out of the rest of the country is a patronizing "we recognize there's a problem, but you're being a bigot about it". Abbot's a chode, but A: I'll be dead and Democrat voter anyway before I give Beta a shot at any power over my home, and B. if he managed to ruffle your feathers then the stunt worked as intended. And don't play the racism card after Democrats explicitly tried to cut Cubans and Venezuelans out of pro-immigration actions.

The US needs comprehensive immigration reform, but only four states directly suffer for a lack of it so the rest of the country just sneers at us when we complain.

I thought New York would want those illegal migrants to settle in their territories.
To be fair to the author he specifically says that he has no issue with the redirection of migrants, just that it was done with no notice given to New York authorities and that the Texas deliverymen were sometimes intentionally obtuse in the assistance offered to the migrants after arrival. He seems to miss that New York could take action to interdict the caravans if they were warned and that the chaotic mess is the point. The bussing is a political stunt and a cheap one at that. In a perfect world, I would also condemn Abbot for being an asshole, but this is an old problem and one that people in NY, DC, and other influential political regions have made abundantly clear they want to exacerbate since they find it useful to their ends and don't have to suffer the downsides of.

New yorkers for decades gleefully enabled havok and chaos to happen in Texas and to its people now they get to deal with the conqeuences.

They always squeal when they get a taste of their own medicine. There's a reason the US is a federalist system and I look forward to a day when the government remembers that. New York can run New York the way New York wants, but don't make policy that screws Texas and then whine when Texas throws said policy through your font window.

Oh and one final complaint. I never want to hear another person complain about how Texas sets content for school books ever again. If your education system is too cheap to commission its own curriculum that's your problem, not ours. Maybe spend less money on bribing Teacher's Union officials and more on actual school supplies.

Or dissolve the department of Education while I'm wishing for things.

More seriously, that kind of logic could work in China, or the Wild West, but there is no winning with it in a country that recognizes such concepts as social welfare and free quality social services for the poor, nevermind affirmative action for "people of color" (aka immigrants from certain list countries). You pay either way, except not at the taco stand, just in state or federal taxes.

Well yeah no one here to my knowledge disagrees with Milton Friedmans point that you can have either open borders or the wellfare state, it is just most of us recognize getting rid of the wellfare state is not politically possible.

You can have open borders exclusively for high-IQ countries/people while keeping the welfare state.

You mean other welfare states of similar or greater wealth. Otherwise you are vulnerable to said other countries, especially if their high IQ is turned into low cunning of its ruling class, to "encourage" own sick, poor, or otherwise burdensome or troublesome people to fuck off to any welfare state ruled by suckers willing to deal with them.

Yes, that makes sense. Any immigration from such countries would need to at least be net neutral for a country's budget.

Can't say I blame them, considering that for example it was revealed on Wikileaks in 2016 that the US goverment tried to brainwash Estonian people into accepting the "benefits of diversity" and "multicultural society".

I'd demand an immediate stop to importing more foreigners too. Matter of fact, I am demanding it.
And before anyone argues this was an isolated incident: Bullshit. The USA has been pushing multikulti garbage for a long time now.
