Update on the story. Felipe Rodriguez, who was a source of the previous story, apparently is on disability after getting injured delivering a refrigerator to one of the rooms due to it being 'overcluttered' whilst working at the 'Row NYC' luxury hotel. He commented that many of the migrants engage in disrespect of the staff, the use of drugs and alcohol, incurring property damage, making out in public spaces, and so forth. He also suggested hotel management/ownership doesn't mind because they are making more money from the City then they would hosting guests. It's estimated that NYC taxpayers are paying $650,000 daily for migrants to stay at the Row NYC hotel alone.
At the nearby Watson Hotel, the migrants (mostly single men) were evicted to the outrage of various advocacy groups.
