What If? Horus Heresy 2.0 Emperor Returns

Tyzuris

Primarch to your glory& the glory of him on Earth!
So Emperor of Mankind manages to find a way to seal the warp gate to Terra permanently and puts his focus on repairing his decaying body. A mass sacrifice of a billion psykers is conducted in order to start the healing process of the Emperor's body. And guards guarding the Emperor's corpse begin to see the corpse slowly repairing itself and regenerating. This information leaks a few months before the Emperor awakens and Emperor awakens to an Imperium celebrating the return of their God Emperor.

Emperor reaches out to all the living loyalist primarchs via his psychic powers and they all* return to Terra.

Guilliman is already on Terra.

The Emperor is put up to date on how things have been proceeding and assumes command. The loyalist primarchs are set to command their legions.

Chaos gods wants the Emperor gone once more and they mobilize the six traitor primarchs with their legions of traitor Astartes and try to push for an attack on Terra on the Emperor himself. The Chaos gods will also use whoever else is on their ''payroll''.

The IoM wins if they can repel the Chaos attack. Will they win? Is the Emperor able to this time around also destroy his traitorous spawn? Also assume no loyalist primarch will be corrupted by Chaos.

So this takes place in the 41st Millenium sometime in the near future of the current canon or some other time period?

The Chaos Primarchs are more warp entity than flesh and blood, they wouldn't really be able to exist in the Materium but they can send fragments of themselves like Angron did during the First War of Armageddon. Considering a Grey Knight was able to force him back into the warp, I could only imagine the Primarchs themselves would whup them in the materium pretty easily.

On the other hand, it wouldn't be a surprise if they were able to create multiple fragments of themselves and send them into the Materium so you could have the Primarchs or bunches of librarians running around trying to banish daemonic Primarchs.

I think the Imperium would have the edge in terms of having actual Primarchs existing in the Materium but they're going to butt heads with the current Imperium and a kind of balance would be established. Unless the Primarchs decide to go Civil War 2: Electric Boogaloo so you'd have a three way battle. There are honestly a lot of ways it could play out and most of them would be very bad for all involved.

Things seemed so simple now... before the fall of Cadia and this whole Dark Imperium thing that went on.

Now you can have an even more then three way battle... or maybe things would be easier to sort out with the Emperor and remaining Living Primarchs only needing to sort out half an Imperium at a time.

Hmmm...I think the big question is really the status of the 'verse after the warp tear splits the galaxy in two.

Is it the same so a good half of the galaxy is split off from Terra or stuck in Warp Storm?
Has it shrunk at all? Has it been reduced to the level of JUST the Eye of Terror?
How are the Xenos factions doing? The Orks were on a pretty good tear across several segmentums. Tyrannid Hive Fleets were pretty active as well.
