You gotta hit up the right recruiters. It also helps if you have a good resume since it makes their job much easier when screening you. Er. Also, I'm in software engineering which is a lot easier to headhunt for.
I thought you said you hadn't had to network; how the heck do you "hit them up" without doing that?

Post a resume on Linked in and check the little box that says open to recruitment? Make sure your resume is complete and maybe get it professionally reviewed by a resume writing agency. "Hit up" was bad phrasing on my part. @Terthna

Dude, I have a master's degree in mechanical engineering and I hardly get any call-backs. I can count on one hand how many times I got even a phone interview. :cautious:

Yeah, I got nothing. It might be worth paying a professional to review your resume, online presence, and interviewing skills.

Makes me fell better about not getting even a single one with my associate's degree in Electronics and Computer Technology.

In other words, it's all about how well you can promote and sell yourself; aka, network.

No, it's not. Networking isn't knowing how to present yourself to the job market, it's building a group of people who have influence to get you into things. Knowing how to paying for someone to groom your image isn't the same at all.

This elective is a four-week multidisciplinary clinical-and-scholarly experience that trains students to provide high-quality, culturally responsive care for patients with diverse sexual orientations, gender identities, and sex development. Many of these patients identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex or asexual (LGBTQIA+). Clinical exposure and education will focus on serving gender and sexual minority people across the lifespan, from infants to older adults.

Yeah, so Harvard now has an elective that includes identifying trans and gay infants.

Whoever it was that kept saying the American Troubles/American Civil War 2 is 50 years away might want to shave a decade or two off that estimate.

The grill bois and soccer moms are not paying attention and don't give a shit, and they very deliberately do not give a shit they go out of their way not to care, until that mentality breaks down I dont' see it happening, and it takes a whole lot to break that mindset.

I bet gas barbeques are next after stoves. And then charcoal because it's not renewable, even though it explicitly is since it's made from trees! And I say to myself, what a wonderful world.

Edit: The grill bois made me think of this. It's really not the right place. But I bet they'll start caring then.

A Rhode Island High School Assistant Principal sent out an interesting e-mail to solicit donations from school staff on behalf of one of their students.

According to the Daily Caller:

Daily Caller said:
Providence’s Mount Pleasant High School Assistant Principal Stefani Harvey sent an email Thursday night soliciting donations for “a student who came to America with ‘Coyote,’ which is a group that helps people,” according to the message. The email described the coyote as a group that “gives you a time frame to make a payment of $5000 dollars to those, who bring them into the states.”

Responses have ranged from the e-mail being generated as a hoax or fake to the Principal who stated "the nature of the request is not appropriate."

Florida’s Gov. DeSantis Declares Financial War on ‘Woke’ Universities in State (theepochtimes.com)

...Gov. Ron DeSantis threw down the gauntlet on fixing higher education on Jan. 31, vowing to eliminate all funding for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI), and Critical Race Theory (CRT) throughout the state.

Public universities should not be in the business of using taxpayer money to offer degrees in “zombie” studies but should embrace academic excellence and truth, and allow students to think for themselves, DeSantis said.

“Our institutions will be graduating students with degrees that will actually be useful,” he said. “We will be eliminating all DEI and CRT bureaucracies in Florida. It will wither on the vine.”

This is kinda interesting because of how ludicrously broad the ruling is. They're forbidding all Valentine's cards because some kids may not be able to afford cards. But there's nothing you can't ban under that reasoning. Ban sports because some kids are in wheelchairs; ban drawing because some kids can't afford art supplies; ban reading, writing, and math because some students can't afford books.
