Having a separate Corona virus thread is going to foment division amongst users

The Boot has created a new thread titled "Reveille's Wuhan Virus Data Repository " in the NSFW Politics subforum and has moved all of Reveille's posts concerning the virus there. That thread is not under zero tolerance rules, normal rules will apply. This thread will remain for actual information about the virus. Reveille's speculation and information will be confined to his own thread.

You do realize this is going to encourage further division, right? People who think one thing will post in this thread, while people who think another will post in in Reville's, and they'll simply stop communicating with each other on this topic; beyond posting drive-by snipes on the opposing thread. In fact, the opening shot has already been posted:

This is a silly doomer thread and you will feel silly when this blows over.

It strikes me as a way of giving @Reveille the chance to present his data and discuss his predictions without it one clogging up the other thread and to not turning it into a soapbox.

Personally, I don’t post much in then coronavirus threads, but I wouldn’t be overly concerned here.

People should be free to think what they will of the virus. And argue accordingly.
