Eagle Scout saves a life.

Fox News said:
It was Mychal VanAllsburg's first day on the job at Enterprise Door LLC in Michigan two years ago when a harrowing car crash made him stop in his tracks.

Equipped with the lessons instilled in him from the Boy Scouts of America, VanAllsburg, an Eagle Scout, rushed to the scene and pulled a woman out of her car before it became engulfed in flames.

A few weeks ago, the woman – Jodie Matthews – handed VanAllsburg the Boy Scouts of America Heroism Award for saving her life.

People seem to not understand just how much of a pain it is to get Eagle. It is rewarding as all hell though

The only Eagle Scout I've met was more interested in showing off and bragging about his badges than he was in interacting with girls his age. When he got upset because my youngest sis was dating a black guy from the 'hood indstead of him one of my brothers-in-law, also from the 'hood, told him to get lost, "or else".

I was just saying it isn't easy to get to Eagle.

Pennsylvania Woman was looking to adopt a pet at the Humane Society and found the dog she had lost two years ago. Kovu, a pitbull-rottweiler mix apparently squeezed through a hole in the fence at the owners yard and was picked up by the Animal Humane Society several weeks later missing patches of fur and infested with fleas. The dog in the interim was adopted by another family for some time before being given back to the Humane Society due to housing issues and happened to be found by his original owner when she was looking for a new pet.

And yes, Kovu recognized her immediately!

Speaking of dogs being reunited...

Instead of just two years... how about a Dog in Arkansas being lost back in 2011, a decade ago only to be found by an animal rescue service in California who scanned the dogs microchip and were able to find a pilot and organization willing to fly 'Razzie' back to his family.

Two men fired to decrease the number of men vs. women in the company successfully sued for sexual discrimination in the UK.

Hilarious snippet:

After the conference, Mr Bayfield and Mr Jenner expressed their "valid" concerns over the safety of their jobs.

However, bosses reacted "furiously" and took it as a "challenge" to their new diversity drive, then made them redundant.

The boss became angry and fired them for suggesting they might be worried about their jobs, and now the company's shelling out fat stacks of cash for it.

A Portuguese Treasure Ship was lost at sea sometime around the year of 1533 until the year 2008 when it was rediscovered by miners off the coast of Namibia. Now anthropologists and other scienticians discovered the Bom Jesus and along with the large amounts of silver and gold and other valuables found aboard, there was also a load of elephant ivory.

Science News said:
She and her colleagues extracted DNA from 44 tusks. The genetic material revealed that all of that ivory came from African forest elephants (Loxodonta cyclotis) rather than their African savanna kin (L. africana). By comparing the ivory DNA with that of past and present African elephant populations with known origins, the team determined that the shipwrecked tusks belonged to elephants from at least 17 genetically distinct herds across West Africa — only four of which still exist. The other elephant lineages may have died out as a result of hunting or habitat destruction (SN: 11/7/16).

Science News said:
“We were quite surprised,” says study coauthor Ashley Coutu, an archaeologist at the University of Oxford. Modern African forest elephants are known to roam forests as well as savannas. But researchers thought that forest elephants first ventured out into grasslands only in the 20th century, as many savanna elephants were wiped out by poachers and the forest elephants’ original habitats were destroyed by human development. The new results suggest that African forest elephants were amenable to both forest and savanna habitats all along.

Better understanding the habitats historically preferred by African forest elephants could inform efforts to conserve this vulnerable species (SN: 9/9/16). More than 60 percent of these elephants have been poached within the last decade, and the ones that remain inhabit only about a quarter of their historical range, according to the African Wildlife Foundation.

Took a look at the article and then name of the male feminist peon was . . .

Lucas Peon

"Ms Wallace - who has been described as a "fearless champion of female success" - held the "hard-hitting" diversity presentation with executive creative director Lucas Peon in May 2018."

"Mr Peon had unfairly made his mind up before even carrying out an assessment of other senior creatives to see who would be axed, the tribunal heard."

Never ever put a peon in charge. It will only end in disaster.

Such is life in 2021.
