As satisfying as gun owners saying 'screw you' and leaving would be, if the laws stand it will set precedent for elsewhere.
This must be fought in the courts to keep this sort of shit from spreading.

Not really workable; the economics of it are a pain and remember, people leaving Cali might still be stuck with an 'exit tax' the state has tried to use to punish people for leaving.

Red flag laws at least have a pretext. In theory, they make sense, because someone who is legitimately unhinged, you would not want to have a gun. The practical problem is that barring cases where someone is already making clear, immediate threat of violence, it's pretty much impossible to have a clear line, and the squishiness of 'mentally unsound' makes it incredibly abusable.
This doesn't have a pretext. It's just 'if you own a gun, you are culpable for what someone else did with one.'
This is the equivalent of taxing everyone who owns a car to pay the community back the cost of damages incured by people joyriding around in stolen cars.

To a small degree police aka people to prevent rape murder and theft from happening in the open are needed. But we don’t need the specific people that make up the FBI or ATF or DEA or certain police departments. They could be replaced with anyone who is willing to use force and obey orders from ex army, former civilians, vigilante, gang members, thugs what ever. As long as those people are willing to accept following orders in the future.
