It was just a lame addition that was probably demanded by EA to make it more in line with more typical shooters.

It was funny because I remember playing through the first game, thinking to myself how awesome it was that I didn't have to go around collecting more ammo after every shoot-out like you do in most shooters, only to end up doing that in ME2 right out of the gate. And then they made fun of people complaining about the change in ME3. :cautious: Whatever, first ME is best ME.

Not particularly limited to futuristic firearms, since it includes swords and powered jewelry and multiuniversal sized uhhh things but best place for the MetaBallStudios video on Weapon Size comparison. Love the big guns too, that was fun to see.

That is a Boltgun in the thumbnail.

Can't help but feel the V-150 Ion Cannon from Star Wars seemed bigger though.

I mean it's obviously a real weapon but I feel it's more relevant to this thread then the actual Boomstick/Gun Thread over in Community.

Gateworld talked with Rob Fournier, the armorer on Stargate SG-1 about how he introduced the FN P90 into the show.

There's a lot of interesting little anecdotes in this clip, and some insight into what the Armorers job on set... when he's doing his job responsibly.

The MA5C Assault Rifle of the UNSC as presented by Garand Thumb.

Nice to see a faithful live action adaption of some of the famous and popular military gear from the Halo game series finally...

*gazes in Paramount's direction*

Some YouTuber with only a few hundred (few thousand now) followers made a working replica of the BR55 Battle Rifle from the Halo franchise.

Apparently built it from the "ground up" and it can go shooty shooty as well.

Technically speaking since Star Wars takes place a long time ago it's not actually a future weapon as per the title of this thread but hopefully it's permissable.

I haven't watched through the whole thing yet but the title lured me in. Making me think it's trying to recommend me a blaster like a Gun YouTuber would a real life firearm! :p

But here we are, Top Five Beginner Blasters... And it starts out with... The E-5? Really??

That’s the one that the B-1 battledroids use if memory serves. Stormtroopers used the E-11.

Watched the video and I was right. That’s an odd choice given the weapon’s issues. From wookiepedia, it was comparatively flimsy and got hot easily- not issues for mass produced and cheaply made battledroids. Though it was apparently accurate- not that it made a difference given b-1’s tendency to shoot from the hip. It also had a carbine version with a folding stock.

Personally, I would suggest the StarSlasher Blaster carbine, or as I like to call it, the Space AK-47 based on its description.
